PENGEMBANGAN MODEL DASHBOARD DIREKTORAT AKADEMIK UGM

Perkembangan teknologi informasi berkembang seiring berkembangnya sebuah peradaban. Perguruan tinggi sebagai salah satu bagian dari suatu peradaban tersebut memiliki kompleksitas dan dinamika tersendiri. Universitas Gadjah Mada dengan populasi 50 ribuan mahasiswa tentunya memerlukan pengelolaan yang komprehensif, di bawah Direktorat Akademiklah administrasi mahasiswa dimulai dan berakhir. Data besar ini tersimpan pada database di berbagai sistem informasi yang ada di Direktorat Akademik, guna mendukung setiap kebijakan yang berbasiskan data diperlukanlah suatu perangkat yang mampu menggambarkan dan memvisualisasikan data tersebut sehingga mudah dibaca dan dipahami dengan cepat, sehingga dashboard merupakan salah satu pilihan untuk merepresentasikan hal tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan mengembangkan model dashboard yang sesuai dengan ciri khas universitas. Dashboard dikembangkan berbasiskan web untuk mempermudah tingkat aksesibilitas penggunanya serta bersifat interaktif dan dinamis. Model dashboard diuji oleh pengguna dan praktisi di bidang teknologi informasi melalui focus group discussion . Hasil penelitian memberikan rekomendasi model dashboard pada Direktorat Akademik UGM, dengan indikator-indikator yang telah disepakati. Indikator-indikator yang ditampilkan memuat informasi mahasiswa baru, aktif maupun lulus dari keadaan terkini, keadaan sebelumnya serta perbandingan antara kedua keadaan tersebut. Indikator-indikator tersebut juga dapat dirinci berdasarkan fakultas, program studi, kedaerahan hingga permahasiswa. Model dashboard rekomendasi ini dibagi atas 2 level yaitu level pimpinan universitas dan level pimpinan fakultas.

The development of information technology evolves along with the development of a civilization. College as a part of civilization has its own complexities and dynamics. Universitas Gadjah Mada with its 50 thousands student population need a comprehensive management, under the Directorate of Academic Affairs student's administration begins and ends. This huge data stored in variety of information systems database. To support policies that made based on the data, policy makers need tools to describe and visualize the data easily in order to be read and understand quickly. Dashboard is one option to fulfill the needs. This study aims to introduce and develop a model of dashboard that suits the characteristics of a university. This dashboard model is developed web-based, to maintain user accessibility and to make it interactive and dynamic. The dashboard model was tested by user and information technology practitioners through the focus group discussion . The results of the study provide recommendations of dashboard models on Directorate of Academic Affairs of UGM, with indicators that have been agreed upon. Indicators contain the current number of new students, active students, as well as alumni information. The indicator shows the current and previous number and a comparison between the two conditions. These indicators can also be drilled down by faculty, study program, regionalism until the detailed information of each student. This recommended dashboard model is divided into two levels: decision makers in the university level and the faculty level.
