Slug flow is encountered in numerous practical situations. Among the slug flow characteristics, slug frequency is a crucial one which is related to serious operational problems. The three dimensional (3-D) nature modeling of the slug flow in pipes has a crucial significance that cannot be ignored. The objective of this project is to simulate elongated bubble in a horizontal pipe based on their real physic by using VOF method for obtaining the interfacial behaviour, length of bubble, velocity of bubble and liquid hold-up. The commercial software FLUENT 6.3.26 with finite volume method was used to produce numerical data. The turbulance was modeled with the SST model. The Pressure Implicit with Splitting of Operators (PISO) was employed. The conclusion of present work is numerical simulation of a single elongated bubble was performed by using VOF model. A good agreement on parameters was obtained between the predicted and measurement data, those were the interfacial behaviour, length of bubble, velocity of bubble and liquid hold-up.
