Background: Stroke is the world’s leading cause of mortality, resulting around 6,000,000 deaths annually. It is estimated that the lifetime risk for stroke is between 8% and 10%. Besides, stroke also has a highest tendency cause of disability worldwide with far reaching consequences for the society. Ischaemic stroke is the most common type of stroke, constituting around 80% of all strokes, of which 60% are attributable to large-artery ischaemia. Abnormalities of serum lipids (dyslipidemia) are major risk factors for coronary heart disease and most recently established as risk factor in cerebrovascular disease. Objectives: The general aim of this study is to find relation of total cholesterol level of ischemic stroke patient during admission and clinical outcome score of stroke patient on fifth day. Method: The data of stroke patient is collected by analysing the medical records obtained from stroke unit of RSUD Dr. Sardjito in 2012. The medical chosen is the ischemic stroke patients who were admitted to Unit Stroke of RSUP Dr. Sardjito for more than 5 days from January to December in 2012. Result: Analyzed using Spearman correlation, there is very weak positive correlation between the clinical outcome scale (GMSS) at 5th day and level of total cholesterol level in ischemic stroke patients. Also, the correlation is insignificant. Conclusion: There is no correlation between the clinical outcome scale (GMSS) at 5th day and level of total cholesterol level in ischemic stroke patients .
