Background: Early psychosis means first episode of psychosis or first onset of psychosis. Usually early psychosis occurs during adolescence or early adulthood. The occurrence of psychosis during this age is really disturbing since this is the golden age for development of physical, mental, and personality. Objective: To determine the relationship between regularity of control and relapse in early psychosis patient. Methods: Cross-sectional study with 100 subjects of early psychosis patients and caregivers from Dr Sardjito hospital, Ghrasia Hospital and Puri Nirmala Hospital and other hospital in Yogyakarta who have given their consent to involve in this research. Each patient was given a control card. They need to bring their control card every time they come to hospital for control. The regularity of control is determined by assessing the control card. Relapse reports are assessed from caregivers report of relapse in early psychotic patients and re-hospitalization report. Results: Not control group (55,6%)has the highest percentage of relapse compared to the other two groups(10,6% and 6,8%). There is statistically significant different between not control group, regular control group and irregular control group (p, 0,010; 95%CI, 0,000-0,030). The relation between regularity of control and relapse is weak (CC, 0,304). Conclusion: There is statistically significance different between not control group, regular control and irregular control group in relation with relapse. Furthermore, there is relation between regularity of control and relapse in early psychosis patient even though the CC is weak. Therefore, the hypothesis of this research is accepted.
