Pada saat ini perkembangan teknologi dunia perindustrian sangatlah pesat, dilihat dari sisi penggunaannya alat instrumentasi pabrik yang semakin canggih yang berfungsi untuk mempermudah pekerjaan manusia (human) dalam proses produksi. Salah satu contoh alat instrument tersebut adalah Control Valve. Sistem Control Valve merupakan system kendali yang berfungsi untuk menjaga agar proses pengontrolan berlangsung sesuai dengan akurasi yang diinginkan. Salah satu system kontrol yang digunakan adalah Valve HRC (High Rate Control) yang berperan dalam proses pengontrolan aliran steam atau uap panas yang dialirkan ke sterilizer pada unit stasiun rebusan yang bekerja berdasarkan prinsip air to open, dengan menggunakan pneumatic actuator. Dalam proses system perebusan/sterilizer yang merebus TBS (Tandan Buah Segar) agar mudah lepas dari janjangan dan mudah diolah menjadi minyak kelapa sawit maka pada unit ini pemilihan material merupakan hal yang paling utama yaitu harus disesuaikan dengan material yang dikontrolnya.
