Persiapan praktikum di Program Studi Komputer dan Sistem Informasi yang masih menggunakan Microsoft Excel, dapat menimbulkan beberapa masalah, antara lain memakan waktu lama serta tidak adanya track record yang jelas pada manajemen pengolahan data yang membuat penggunaan untuk jangka panjang kurang efisien. Hal ini tentu saja merugikan bagi mahasiswa maupun pengajar karena harus mengurus lagi dan tentu saja merepotkan petugas laboran maupun penyusun jadwal praktikum. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, perlu dibangun sistem yang mampu menangani proses manajemen persiapan praktikum, seperti menyusun kelas hingga menyusun jadwal secara otomatis dengan segala batasannya dan pengelolaan presensi, sehingga memudahkan manajemen persiapan praktikum di program studi Komputer dan Sistem Informasi. Sistem Informasi Persiapan Praktikum di program studi Komputer dan Sistem Informasi, Sekolah Vokasi, Universitas Gadjah Mada, ini berbasis desktop dan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Java dan basis data MySQL. Hasil keluaran yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah proses persiapan praktikum yang tersentralisasi dan lebih efisien dalam proses manajemennya.

Practicum preparation at the Department of Computer and Information Systems that still use Microsoft Excel, can cause several problems, such as timeconsuming and the absence of a clear history of the management of data processing that make use of less efficient for the long term. This is of course detrimental to students and teachers because they have to take care of anymore and certainly troublesome for officers and constituent laboratory practicum schedule. Based on these problems, need to build a system capable of handling the preparation of management practice, such as preparing the class to draw up a schedule automatically with all its limitations and presence management, so as to facilitate the preparation of management practicum courses in Computer and Information Systems. Preparation Practicum Information Systems in Computer and Information Systems, School of Vocational, Gadjah Mada University, is based on the desktop and use the Java programming language and MySQL database. The output expected from this research is that a centralized lab preparation process and more efficient in its management processes.
