(Hemiptera: Cicadelidae) dikenal dengan nama wereng pucuk teh (green tea-leafhopper), atau juga disebut wereng hijau merupakan hama pada tanaman teh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketahanan teh klon Pagilaran (PGL) 1 s.d. 16 terhadap serangan Empoasca sp. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kebun Teh Pagilaran pada ketinggian tempat sekitar 900 m dpl pada bulan September - November 2011. Rancangan percobaan RCBD faktor tunggal dengan perlakuan 16 klon teh PGL dan empat ulangan diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini. Pucuk teh disungkup menggunakan botol plastik transparan volume 1,5 liter. Empoasca sp. diinfestasikan kedalam botol sebanyak 10 ekor per pucuk. Respons klon teh terhadap serangan Empoasca sp. ditunjukkan oleh populasi Empoasca sp. dan intensitas kerusakan daun pucuk teh. Pengamatan dilakukan tiga kali dengan interval 7 hari. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa respons antar klon PGL berbeda nyata. Klon PGL 7 dan 5 menunjukkan tingkat ketahanan yang paling tinggi, sedangkan klon PGL 12 merupakan klon yang paling rentan terhadap serangan Empoasca sp.
Empoasca sp. ( Hemiptera: Cicadelidae ) is known as green tea-leafhopper, or also called as green leafhopper and a pest of tea plants. This study aimed to determine the resistance of tea Pagilaran (PGL) clones, PGL 1 to 16 against Empoasca sp. This research was conducted in Tea Gardens of Pagilaran at altitude about 900 meters above sea level in September - November 2011. A single factor RCBD experimental design with 16 PGL clones as a treatment and four replicates was applied in this study. Tea shoot was covered with transparent plastic bottle of 1.5 liters volume. Empoasca sp. as many as 10 individuals were infested in the bottle. Response of the tea clones to Empoasca sp. was shown by the population of Empoasca sp. and the leaf damage intensity. Observations were conducted three times with 7 days interval. Statistical analysis showed that responses amongst PGL clones were signiticantly different. Clones of PGL 7 and 5 showed more resistant than other clones, whereas PGL 12 was the most vulnerable from attacking Empoasca sp.
