THE CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS OF BNI CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

This study was conducted to discuss the Critical Success Factors of BNI Corporate Sustainability strategy. The fact really inhibited that the practice of sustainability can be successful, in the term of financial, environment, and also social. BNI is the real proof of this practice. This study was performed on the range of September 2012 to September 2013 by involving sustainability expert in BNI, Leonard T. Panjaitan, Data were gathered by using the technique of interview, observatory, literature, and also documents. In this study, Qualitative exploratory is used by the researcher in order to analyze important factors which become critical success factors of corporate sustainability strategy in BNI. As the tool, Richard Caralli’s Critical Success Factors’ method had been used by the researcher in order to create a systematic way in obtaining its critical success factors. Nowadays, corporations are facing new challenges, which is not only performing good financial performance, but also being ethical toward the society and minimizing the exploitation of the natural resources. The current global situations ( global warming, social gap, etc. ) are forcing corporations to sustain. By to sustain means that corporations have to think about the future of this world itself. Six critical success factors had been obtained. Those are top managements and directors’ commitment toward sustainability, competent human resources in sustainability, the implementation of good corporate governance, the development of sustainable products, services, and business activities, engaging and collaborating with other institutions, and also costumers’ engagement. Each factor has its own uniqueness and its own raison d’etre. We hoped that this research can enlarge the knowledge of the us about corporate sustainability’s practice in Indonesia, especially in banking industry, and also some factors that make a company successfully implemented the corporate sustainability strategy.
