AKTIVITAS PELAYANAN DI SEKITAR TERMINAL SEBAGAI FASILITAS TRANSPORTASI REGIONAL STUDI KASUS TERMINAL TIRTONADI DAN SOLO BALAPAN

2013 | Tesis | S2 Magist.Prnc.Kota & DaerahKota Surakarta merupakan kota yang strategis, merupakan pertemuan tiga jalur utama kota besar yaitu Semarang, Surabaya dan Yogyakarta. Transportasi darat khususnya bus dan kereta api menjadi transportasi utama di kota ini, dan terdapat fenomena yang berbeda berkaitan dengan aktivitas pelayanan ekonomi di sekitar terminal bus dan kereta api di Surakarta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah; 1) Mendeskripsikan perbedaan aktivitas pelayanan di sekitar Kawasan Terminal Bus Tirtonadi dan Terminal Kereta Api Solo Balapan. 2) Identifikasi faktor-faktor perbedaan penggunaan aktivitas pelayanan di sekitar Kawasan Terminal Bus Tirtonadi dan Terminal Kereta Api Solo Balapan. 3) Bagaimana pola pemanfaatan ruang di sekitar Kawasan Terminal Bus Tirtonadi dan Terminal Kereta Api Solo Balapan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di dua terminal di Kota Surakarta yaitu terminal bus Tirtonadi dan Terminal kereta api Solo Balapan. Variabel utama yang diteliti meliputi kegiatan pelayanan, pertambahan jumlah pemanfaatan ruang, karakteristik terminal dan aksesibilitas terhadap angkutan umum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ; 1) kehadiran fasilitas transport regional dapat mendorong tingkat pertumbuhan wilayah melalui usaha pelayanan ekonomi, walaupun dengan jumlah dan ciri pertumbuhan yang berbeda-beda, apalagi dengan moda yang berbeda yaitu bis dan kereta api. Tingkat kemampuan Terminal Bus Tirtonadi menunjukkan tingkatan yang lebih cepat mempengaruhi timbulnya kegiatan pelayanan daripada di Terminal Kereta Api Solo Balapan. 2) Faktor karakteristik terminal dan aksesibilitas terhadap jalan besar diduga merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi perbedaan tingkat kemampuan terminal dalam memicu timbulnya kegiatan pelayanan, pengaruh dari masing-masing factor tersebut berbeda-beda dan saling terkait. 3) Terdapat faktor-faktor lain selain faktor karakteristik terminal dan aksesibilitas yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap tumbuhnya kegiatan pelayanan di sekitar terminal seperti karakteristik penumpang. 4) Pola pemanfaatan ruang Terminal Bus Tirtonadi tidak hanya mengikuti jaringan jalan tetapi perkembangan paling banyak terdapat di belakang Terminal Bus Tirtonadi, dengan radius sekitar 300 m. Jenis pelayanan yang dominan adalah agen tiket perjalanan dan warung makan. Sedangkan pola pemanfaatan ruang di sekitar terminal kereta api Solo Balapan justru dominan berada di sebelah timur dan depan stasiun dan tidak membentuk pola tertentu, dengan radius sekitar 200 m. Jenis pelayanan yang dominan adalah warung makan dan hotel.
Surakarta is a strategic city,where the three important city have met, there were Semarang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. Ground transportation especially buses and railway become important transportation in this city and there are different phenomenon connected with service activities around the station of bus and railway in the Surakarta. So the purposes of this study are: 1 ) Describe the difference between service activities around Tirtonadi Bus Station and Solo Balapan Railway Station 2 ) To identify the differences usage factors in service activities around Tirtonadi Bus Station and Solo Balapan Railway Station. 3 ) To identity the pattern of utilization space around Tirtonadi Bus Station and Solo Balapan Railway Station. This study was conducted at two bus station in Surakarta namely Tirtonadi Bus Station and Solo Balapan Railway Station . The main variables which studied include type of service activities, the amount of space utilization , characteristics of bus station, and accessibility to public transport . The results of this study showed that: 1 ) the presence of regional transport facilities can encourage the growth rate of the regional economic through business services , although the number and grow characteristics are different growth , moreover buses and trains gave different effect of growth . What level of ability of Tirtonadi Bus station showed more quickly affect the incidence of service activities than in Solo Balapan railway station . 2 ) Characteristics of bus station and accessibility to major roads is assumed an important that affecs the differences in the level of the terminal 's ability to triggering service activities , the effect of each of factors is different and interrelated . 3 ) There are other factors that considered to affect the growth of service activities around the bus station, such as passenger characteristics . 4 ) The space utilization pattern of Tirtonadi bus station does not only follow the development of the road network but are most numerous behind Tirtonadi bus station , with a radius about 300 m . The dominant type of services are agency travel tickets and food stalls. Meanwhile, pattern of space usage around the Solo Balapan Railway Station is dominantis located in the eastern and the front of the station and has no specific pattern , it has with a radius of agglomeration about 200 m surounding. The dominant types of service are food stalls and hotels.
