PERANCANGAN LABORATORIUM PENGGUNAAN LIMBAH CRUMB RUBBER SEBAGAI PENGGANTI FILLER PADA CAMPURAN HRS - BASE

S. & T.TransportasiKonsep pembangunan berkelanjutan sangat erat kaitannya dengan pemanfaatan limbah terutama limbah karet, hal ini diindikasikan karena setiap tahun limbah karet meningkat pesat. proses daur ulang limbah karet dengan proses grinding disebut crumb rubber. Berdasarkan literatur penelitian tentang crumb rubber sangat minim khusus di Indonesia, maka dicoba alternatif penggunaan crumb rubber sebagai filler pada campuran HRS-Base. Dalam hal ini, penggunaan crumb rubber sebagai filler diharapkan mampu memperbaiki karakteristik Marshall, durabilitas dan kuat tarik tak langsung (ITS) sehingga pemanfaatan crumb rubber dapat mengurangi limbah karet serta menekan biaya pada perkerasan aspal. Penelitian ini, menggunakan 3 variasi filler diantaranya crumb rubber 0%, crumb rubber 5% dan crumb rubber 10%. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pengujian Marshall untuk memperoleh kadar aspal optimum (KAO) yang digunakan pada pengujian durabilitas (standard dan 24 jam) serta pengujian ITS (unconditioned dan conditioned). Hasil penelitian kadar aspal optimum (KAO) untuk setiap variasi crumb rubber (0%, 5% dan 10%) berturut-turut sebesar 7,13%, 6,70% dan 6,50%. Hasil pengujian nilai stabilitas standart (rendaman 30 menit) masing-masing sebesar 1757,63 kg, 1567,45 kg dan 1518,06 kg serta nilai stabilitas rendaman 24 jam diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 1734,05 kg, 1507,30 kg dan 1428,81 kg. Nilai flow pada rendaman 30 menit dan rendaman 24 jam diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 3,55%, 3,50%, 3,65% dan 3,80%, 3,70%, 3,70%. Sedangkan nilai MQ yang diperoleh masing-masing sebesar 508,15 kg/mm, 454,40 kg/mm, 399,50 kg/mm (rendaman 30 menit) dan 456,33 kg/mm, 408,40 kg/mm, 386,80 kg/mm (rendaman 24 jam). Nilai indeks kekuatan sisa (IRS) yang diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 98,66%, 96,16% dan 94,12%. Selanjutnya, hasil pengujian nilai TSR diperoleh berturut-turut sebesar 96,49%, 96,66% dan 93,38%. Hasil penelitian campuran HRS-Base dengan crumb rubber sebagai filler memenuhi semua syarat Spesifikasi Umum Departemen Pekerjaan Umum 2010.
The concept of sustainable development is closely related with the utilization of waste especially the waste rubber, it is indicated that waste rubber annually increasing rapidly. Recycling proccess of waste rubber by the grinding proccess called crumb rubber. Based on the literature, the research of crumb rubber is minimum especially in Indonesia, therefore it is tried an alternatif the use of crumb rubber as the filler in the mixing of HRS-Base. In this case, the utilization of crumb rubber as the filler it is expected to fix the characteristic marshall, the durability and Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) therefore the use of crumb rubber can reduce the waste rubber and the cost in an asphalt pavement. This research is using 3 filler variations such as crumb rubber 0%, crumb rubber 5% and crumb rubber 10%. Furthermore, the testing of marshall is conducted to obtain the measure of optimum asphalt (KAO) which is utilize in testing of the durability (standard and 24 hours) and the testing of ITS (unconditioned and conditioned). The result of the measure of optimum asphalt (KAO) research for each crumb rubber variation are (0%, 5%, and 10%), respectively for 7,13%, 6,70% and 6,50%. The results of testing the standard value of stability (soaked in 30 minutes) respectively 1757,63 kg, 1567,45 kg and 1518,06 kg and the value of soaked stability 24 hours is obtained respectively for 1734,05 kg, 1507,30 kg and 1428,81 kg. The flow’s value in soaking 30 minutes and soaking 24 hours is obtained respectively 3,55%, 3,50%, 3,65% and 3,80%, 3,70%, 3,70%. Whereas the value of MQ that obtained respectively 508,15kg/mm, 454,40 kg/mm, 399,50 kg/mm (soaked in 30 minutes) and 456,33 kg/mm, 408,40 kg/mm, 386,80 kg/mm (soaked in 24 hours). The value of Indeks of Retained Strength (IRS) that obtained respectively 98,66%, 96,16% and 94,12%. Then, the result of testing value of TSR is obtained respectively 96,49%, 96,66% and 93,38%. The result of mixing research HRS-Base with crumb rubber as the filler is fulfill the requirements of General Specification of Department of Public Services 2010.
