Skripsi ini memdiskripsikan tentang Upacara Labuhan Melasti. Penelitian ini menyajikan analisis semiotik terhadap unsur sesaji Upacara Labuhan Melasti. Analisis semiotik digunakan untuk mengetahui makna yang terkandung dalam unsur sesaji upacara tersebut. Penelitian ini juga mengurai tentang maksud penyelenggaraan upacara, waktu penyelenggaraan upacara, tempat penyelengga upacara, dan prosesi / tahapan upacara Labuhan Melasti. Sesaji pada labuhan melasti pada umumnya mengandung makna permohonan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa agar disucikan dari dosa dan kotoran, dan diberi perlindungan agar dapat menjalani hidup dengan baik, selamat, dan mendapatkan anugrah di segala bidang. Selain itu diharapkan umat Hindu mempunyai sifat rela berkorban, suka bekerja keras, selalu berserah diri, sabar, tenang dalam menjalani kehidupan, dan selalu mewujudkan tiga konsep keharmonisan hidup.

This paper describes about labuhanmelasti ceremony. This research present semiotical analysisof the offering’s elements of labuhanmelasti ceremony. The semiotical analysis is used to find the meaning which is contained in the offering’s elements of the ceremony. This reseach also analysis about the point of the ceremony, the time, and the place of the ritual held, and the procession of labuhanmelasti ceremony. The offeringsin the labuhanmelasti ceremony generally contain of meaning about the prayer for God to be pured from sins and dirts, and to be protected in order to be able to live well, safe, and blessed in everything. Furthermore, hindustans are wished to have traits, like willing to sacrifice, hardwork, sincere, patient, and calmess in living, and to always practice three concepts of the harmony of life.
