Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara rawan gempa, karena berada pada pertemuan 3 lempeng tektonik besar dunia, yaitu Australia, Eurasia, Pasifik. Hal ini menuntut peraturan perencanaan gedung untuk terus diperbaharui, peraturan gempa yang terbaru yang mensyaratkan dalam mendesain suatu bangunan tahan gempa harus mampu berperilaku daktail dalam menerima beban gempa dengan probabilitas terlampaui 2% untuk masa layan bangunan 50 tahun (perioda ulang gempa 2500 tahun). Untuk itu sistem struktur yang digunakan harus sesuai dengan kondisi wilayah tempat gedung tersebut di bangun sesuai dengan fungsinya dan pendetailan penulangannya harus benar-benar sesuai persyaratan. Pendetailan yang digunakan menggunakan desain kapasitas yang sesuai dengan konsep seistem rangka pemikul momen khusus (SRPMK) dan konsep kolom kuat balok lemah. Sehingga diharapkan bangunan ini dapat mampu menerima beban-beban yang terjadi baik beban gempa ataupun yang lainnya. .

For the structural system being used must be compatible with the area where the building is built according to function and etching of reinforcement should really suit the requirements. Etching are analyzed a design capacity in accordance with the concept of spesial reinforced concrete moment frame (SRPMK) and the concept of strong column weak beam.
