Penelitian ini meneliti mengenai proses revitalisasi Museum Benteng Vredeburg Yogyakarta. Proses revitalisasi ditinjau dari aspek kebijakan, aspek manajemen, dan aspek fisik. Penelitian ini juga mninjau tingkat keberhasilan dari proses revitalisasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah unutk mengetahui proses dan tingkat keberhasilan Museum Benteng Vredeburg dalam mengimplementasikan program revitalisasi museum. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini bersifat yuridis empiris yaitu menitik beratkan pada penelitian lapangan secara menyeluruh dan sistematis serta ditunjang dengan penelitian kepustakaan dan data sekunder. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi lapangan serta studi literature. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Museum Benteng Vredeburg cukup optimal dalam mencapai tujuan revitalisasi. Proses revitalisasi juga mengalami beberapa hambatan terkait upaya peningkatan kualitas SDM Museum Benteng Vredeburg serta pengelolaan manajemen keuangan museum, meskipun demikian aspek lainnya yang mempengaruhi proses revitalisasi seperti aspek kebijakan, manajemen koleksi, manajemen pelayanan pengunjung, dan aspek fisik telah dijalankan dan terpenuhi.

This study examines the revitalization process Vredeburg Museum Yogyakarta. Revitalization process in terms of policy aspects, management aspects, and physical aspects. This study also reviewed the level of success of the revitalization process. The purpose of this study was to determine the process and the level of success in implementing Museum Vredeburg museum revitalization program. This study used a qualitative approach. This study empirically the juridical field research focuses on thorough and systematic and supported by the research literature and secondary data. Methods of data collection were interviews, field observations and literature studies. The results of this study indicate that Vredeburg Museum are optimal in the revitalization goals. Revitalization process also encountered some barriers related to efforts to improve the quality of human resources Vredeburg Museum of financial management and the management of the museum, however other aspects that influence the revitalization process such as policy aspects, collection management, visitor services management, and physical aspects have been implemented and fulfilled.
