2001 | Tesis | S2 KimiaTelah dilakukan preparasi, karakterisasi, dan pemanfaatan katalis Niheolit-Y pada hydrocracking kumena. Preparasi Niheolit-Y dilakukan dengan pengembanan nikel dalam jumlah kecil pada H/zeolit-Y dengsn rnetode pertukaran ion. Karakterisasi katalis dilakukan dengan pengukumn kristalinitas, has permukaan spesifik, volume pori total, serta kandungan nikel dan natrium dalam katalis. Pengaruh kandungan nikel terhadap kristalinitas dan has permukaan spesifik katalis juga dipelajari dalam penelitjan ini. Aktivitas katalis diuji pada hydrocracking kumena dengan sistem alir pada 350°C dan 450"C, dan dilakukan penentuan distribusi produk dalam bentuk cairan, kokas dan gas. Produk dalam bentuk cairan kemudian dianalisis rnenggunakan kromatogra fi gas (GC). Aktivitas dan selektivitas katalis setta konversi total proses hydrocracking ditentukan berdasarkan hasil analisis GC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kristalinitas Hheolit- Y berkurang setelah proses pengembanan nikel, tetapi luas permukaan spesifik serta volume pori total katalis tidak berbeda secara signifikan. Aktivitas dan selektivitas katalis serfa kon versi total proses hydrocracking yang lebih tinggi dicapai dengan penggunaaan katalis Nilzeolit- Y dibandingkan dengan penggunaan katalis Hheolit- V, dan nilai-nilai tersebut bervariasi pada variasi kandungan nikel.
Preparation, characterization and utilization of Ni/Y-zeolite catalyst in the hydrocracking of cumene was carried out. The preparation of Nifl-zeolite was carried out by loading small amount of nickel onto the H/Y-zeolite by ion exchange method. The characterizations of catalyst were done by measuring of crystallinity, specific surface area, total pore volume and the nickel and sodium contents of the catalyst. The influence of the nickel content to the Crystallinity, specific surface area and total pore volume of catalyst was also studied in this research. The activity of the catalyst was tested in the hydrocracking of cumene in a flow reaction system at 35a"C and 45a"C, and distribution of. liquid, coke, and gas in the product was measured. The liquid product was then analyzed by gas chromatography (GC). The activity and selectivity of the catalyst and total conversion of hydrocracking were determined on the basis of GC analysis results. The result showed that the crystallinity of the Hff-zeolite decreased after loading of nickel, however the specific surface area and total pore volume of the catalyst were not significantly different. The activity and SelectivEly of the catalyst and total conversion of the hydrocracking using the NiN-zeolite catalyst were higher than those of the Hff-zeolite catalyst, and the values varied with the variation of nickel contents.
