The aim purpose of this paper is to describe Saudi Arabia efforts in defending its legitimacy. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarch country that stands until this era. On this campaign, Saudi Arabia legitimacy faces threat from the Salafy extremists who wants to reform Saudi Arabia. This reformist group even did their protest by attacking and as a result some victims fell. The bomb attack happened in military base of Dhahran and killed 21 United States armies in 1996. Moreover, Saudi Arabia must have faced current democracy that rolled some authoritarian countries in middle east, such as Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia ( Arab Spring) There are three efforts that are done by Saudi Arabia monarch in defending its legitimacy. First, Saudi Arabia creates Wahhabi as the base of Saudi Arabia legitimacy. Second, Saudi Arabia uses its oil resources for Saudi Arabian‟s prosperity. Third, Saudi Arabia gets security protection from the United States. Those three efforts are proven successfully in maintaining the existence of Saudi Arabia monarch so far.
