Code Mixing Used by the Host of Just Alvin Talk Show Program

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi kejadian campur kode oleh pembawa acara Just Alvin (Alvin Adam) pada tiga episode, (2) menganalisa bentuk dan jenis campur kode yang digunakan oleh Alvin Adam serta (3) menganalisa dan menjelaskan sebab – sebab campur kode yang dilakukan oleh Alvin Adam. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari tiga episode Just Alvin dengan tiga tamu yang berbeda. Ketiga episode diperoleh dari situs website YouTube.com. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) pembawa acara Just Alvin menggunakan variasi kode yang berbeda-beda kepada tiga tamu yang berbeda ketika mewawancarai mereka, (2) campur kode terjadi dalam bentuk kata dasar, kata jadian seperti kata berimbuhan dan kata ulang, dan frase. Sedangkan jenis-jenis campur kode yang terjadi adalah campur kode kedalam (inner code mixing) yaitu campur kode dalam Bahasa Indonesia tidak formal dan dalam dialek Jakarta, dan campur kode keluar (outer code mixing) dalam Bahasa Sunda, Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Arab, (3) Sebab-sebab campur kode adalah sebagai berikut: pribadi pembawa acara, anggapan pembawa acara tentang lawan bicaranya, pembawa acara ingin menceritakan lelucon, pembawa acara ingin menceritakan istilah-istilah asli dan yang terakhir adalah maksud pembawa acara.

This research attempts to (1) identify occurrences of code mixing by the host of Just Alvin (Alvin Adam) in three episodes, (2) analyze the forms and types of code mixing used by Alvin Adam and (3) analyze and explain the causes of code mixing made by Alvin Adam. The data used in this research are taken from three episodes of Just Alvin with three different guests. The three episodes are taken from video streaming site YouTube.com. The result of this research shows that (1) the host of Just Alvin uses various different codes towards three different guests when he interviews them, (2) codes mixings occur in form of root word, derivative word such as affixation word and reduplication word and phrase. While the types of code mixing are inner code mixing that is code mixing in Informal Bahasa Indonesia and Jakarta dialect, and the outer code mixing in Sundanese, English and Arabic, (3) the causes of code mixings are as follow; the host’s background, the host’s assumption about his participants, the host wants to tell joke, the host wants to tell some original terms and the host’s intention.
