SPIRITUALITAS POSTMODERN DALAM NOVEL STARDUST KARYA NEIL GAIMAN (TINJAUAN STRUKTURALISME GENETIK)

Penelitian ini secara teoretis bertujuan antara lain, pertama, mendeskripsikan pengarang dan mytopeic society serta kondisi sosio kultural sebagai elemen dalam bangunan novel Stardust yang merupakan objek dalam tulisan ini. Kedua, menemukan unsur internal pembangun Stardust sekaligus mengungkap sisi keposmoderannya, serta menemukan koherensi struktur yang membangun novel Stardust. Selanjutnya secara praktis, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan tentang pemikiran posmodern sebagai evaluasi terhadap modernisme yang dianggap kering nilai-nilai spiritual dan perlunya rekonsiliasi hubungan tiga dimensional, yakni hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan, manusia dengan sesamanya, dan manusia dengan alam sekitarnya. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa Stardust, adalah novel postmodern yang bergenre fantasi mythopoeic. Stardust dibangun berdasarkan sistem doble coding yang dapat ditemukan di dalam sarana sastra dan pandangan dunia. Double coding dalam sarana sastra yakni terdapat pada, latar tempat yang terdiri dari realism dan irealisme. Latar tempat yang realis dan irealis tersebut berimpilikasi pada tokoh-tokoh yang menghuninya. Latar irealis dihuni oleh makhluk peri sedangkan latar realis dihuni oleh manusia-manusia biasa. Double coding pada sarana tersebut berhomologi dengan pandangan dunia. Padangan dunia dalam Stardust juga dibangun dalam sistem double coding. Double coding yang dimaksud adalah, di dalam Stardust, produkproduk modernisme berupa, transendensi Tuhan, nilai tukar,rasionalisme, antrophosentrisme, androsentrisme, dan lain-lain dikodekan secara ganda dengan cara membenturkannya dengan produk-produk tradisionalisme. Benturan dimaksud yakni; transendensi Tuhan dengan imanensi Tuhan, rasionalisme dengan irasionalisme, nilai tukar dengan nilai kemanusiaan, antroposentrisme dengan antropomerfisme, laki-laki dengan perempuan, dan lain-lain. Di akhir cerita komponen yang dibenturkan tersebut saling melengkapi. Fantasi mytopoeic dimaksudkan untuk mengembalikan tradisi lisan dan beberapa perangkap kulturalnya. Misi fantasi mythopoeic adalah; melepaskan diri dari paradigm materialis yang menjadi ciri paradigma modernism, kewajiban untuk mengembalikan nilai-nilai tradisional dan mengenali keterpecahan dunia yang disebabkan oleh modernism, dengan demikian berkomitmen kepada kembalinya pesona dunia, serta komitmen yang kuat terhadap pandangan dunia yang bersifat ekologis dan eukumenis yang berakar dari filsafat postmodernisme Whitehead. Kemampuan para individu yang tergabung dalam inkling dan Mythopoeic Society tersebut untuk mengenali lingkungan serta usaha individu tersebut untuk mendeformasi sitem modernism yang telah usang, itulah yang disebut sebagai akomodasi dan struktrurasi. Strukturasi tersebut menjadi struktur imajiner dalam Stardust.

Theoretically, this research is aimed at describing the author and mythopoeic society as well as socio-cultural condition as the elements of Stardust novel as the object in this research. The next is to find out internal element of Stardust, to describe the postmodernism perpective and to find out the strucuture coherence which construct the Stardust novel.In addition, practically in this research is aimed to give explanation about postmodern mission to evaluate the modernism paradigm wich lack of spiritual value and cause the rupture of the three dimensional relation namely the relation of human with God, human with others and with the nature. The result of this research is found that the postmodern Stardust novel which is constructed based on double coding system can be found in literary device and its world view. Doublecoding settings consisting of realism and irealism. The both realism and irealismin setting are implicated into the characters. The irealism view is occupied by the unnatural creature, while the realism view is occupied by the real human. Double coding in this literary device has a such homologue with the world view. The world view in Stardust is constructed in double coding system as well. The double coding which is mentioned in Stardust is the modernism products such as the transcendence of God, rasionalism, antroposentrism and androcentrism etc. which are noted in double coding by confronting them with traditionalism products. This confrontation consists of God transcendency and God immanency, rasionalism and irasionalism, humanity value and exchange values, antroposentrism and antropomorfism, women and man and so on. In the end of the story, all of the confronted elements are collaborated each other to form the perfectiveness. Mythopoeicfantacy is intended to revisit the oral tradition as well as several its cultural component.Mythopoeic fantacy mission is the attempt to go beyond materialist paradigm which characterises modernism, an obligation to bring back selected traditional values, the efort to recognize the ruptures caused by modernity, the commitment of bringing back the enchantment of nature, which stems from new developments in science, and the commitment to an ecological and ecumenical worldview that now characterises post-modern theology which derived from Whitehead’s organicicm philosophy. The achievement of the collective subject integrated in inklings and mythopoeic society is to recognize the social structure and the participation of the individuals to deform the expired modernism system which is so-called accommodation and structuration. This structuration is becoming imaginer structure in Stardust.
