PABRIK DIETIL MALONAT DARI NATRIUM MALONAT DAN ETANOL KAPASITAS 30.000 TON/TAHUN

Dietil malonat merupakan suatu senyawa ester organik dengan rumus molekul CH2(COOC2H5)2 yang dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku industri farmasi, vitamin, dan agrokimia. Pemanfaatan dietil malonat dalam industri-industri ini menyebabkan diperlukannya pendirian pabrik dietil malonat di Indonesia. Proses produksi dietil malonat terdiri dari proses pelarutan natrium malonat, reaksi asam, reaksi esterifikasi, proses pemisahan, dan pemurnian produk. Pabrik dietil malonat dirancang dengan kapasitas 30.000 ton/tahun untuk beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 330 hari. Produk dietil malonat dengan kemurnian 99,5% memerlukan natrium malonat sebanyak 27.806,35 ton/tahun, etanol 95% sebanyak 17.422,50 ton/tahun, asam sulfat 98% sebanyak 18.788,08 ton/tahun, dan benzen sebagai pelarut sebanyak 1053,36 ton/tahun. Hasil samping berupa natrium sulfat sebanyak 26.279,07 ton/tahun. Selain itu, diperlukan utilitas yang berupa air sebanyak 30.029 kg/jam, steam sebanyak 2.989,78 kg/jam, bahan bakar sebanyak 15.021 kg/jam, dan listrik sebesar 349,38kW. Pabrik akan didirikan di Gresik, Jawa Timur dengan lahan seluas 70.000 m2. Jumlah pekerja sebanyak 200 orang. Dari perhitungan evaluasi ekonomi diperoleh Fixed Capital Investment sebesar US$ 13,746,716.46 + Rp. 284.032.181.200,00; Working Capital Investment sebesar US$ 32,881,840.16 + Rp. 12.652.927.200,00; Return on Investment before tax sebesar 31,63%; Pay Out Time before tax sebesar 2,46 tahun; Break Even Point sebesar 55,99%; Shut Down Point sebesar 39,29%; dan Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return sebesar 24,54%. Berdasarkan evaluasi ekonomi tersebut maka pabrik dietil malonat dari natrium malonat dan etanol dengan kapasitas 30.000 ton/tahun cukup menarik untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.

Diethyl malonate is an organic ester compound with the molecular formula CH2(COOC2H5)2. It is used as raw material for pharmaceutical industry, vitamins, and agrochemicals. The demand of diethyl malonate in industry led to the need to build a new diethyl malonate plant in Indonesia.. The production process of diethyl malonate consists of sodium malonate dissolving, acid reaction, esterification reaction, process of separation, and purification products. The production facility of diethyl malonate is designed with the capacity of 30,000 tons/year and operated continuously for 330 days per year. Production process of diethyl malonate with a purity of 99.5% requires sodium malonate as much as 27,806 tons/year, ethanol 95% as much as 17.422,50 tons/year, sulfuric acid 98% as much as 18.788,08 tons/year, and benzene as a solvent as much as 1053,36 tons/year. In addition, the utility is required in the form of water as much as 30.029 kg/hour, steam as much as 2.989,78 kg/hour, fuel as much as 15.021 kg/hour, and the power of 349,38kW. The plant will be established in Gresik, East Java, with an area of 70,000 m2 and number of employees 200 people. The economic evaluation shows that Fixed Capital Investment is US$ 13,746,716.46 + Rp. 284.032.181.200,00; Working Capital Investment is US$ 32,881,840.16 + Rp. 12.652.927.200,00; Return on Investment before tax is 31,63%; Pay Out Time before tax is 2,46 tahun; Break Even Point is 55,99%; Shut Down Point is 39,29%; dan Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return is 24,54%. Based on the economic evaluation, diethyl malonate plant from sodium malonate and ethanol with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year is attractive to be further studied.
