UJI SENSITIVITAS RIFAMPISIN TERHADAP METHICILLIN-RESISTANT Staphylococcus aureus SECARA IN VITRO

Infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus bersifat parah dan sulit diterapi karena bakteri ini resisten terhadap segala antibiotik beta laktam serta kerentanaanya untuk resisten terhadap bermacam antibiotik. Bahkan dapat ditemui beberapa strain yang resisten terhadap antibiotik Vankomisin yang menjadi pilihan dalam terapi bakteri ini. Rifampisin dikenal sebagai antibiotik untuk Tuberkulosis dan memiliki efek bakterisid terhadap berbagai macam mikroorganisme, salah satunya adalah Staphylococci. Tujuan : Mengetahui sensitivitas antibiotik Rifampisin pada Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus secara In vitro Metode : Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian observasional. Subjek penelitian adalah antibiotik Rifampisin dan bakteri uji Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus koleksi laboratorium mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gadjah Mada. Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM) untuk Rifampisin terhadap Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus diperiksa dengan menggunakan Metode macrobroth dilution dan dicocokan sesuai standar CLSI. Hasil : Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM) dari 13 isolat Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus yang diuji kepekaannya terhadap antibiotik Rifampisin, 76,92% isolat sensitif, 7,69% intermediate, dan 15,38% resisten. Kesimpulan : Rifampisin memiliki daya antibakteri dan masih cukup sensitif terhadap Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Background : Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus is one of main pathogen causing infection in human beings. Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections is often severe and hard to treat because it’s capability to resists any beta lactams antibiotics and its fast ability to develop resistant against various antibiotics. Even, some of strains are found to be resistant against Vancomycin that has been a drug of choice to treat this bacterial infection. Rifampicin is known as its use to treat Tuberculosis and its bactericide effect againts some microorganism like Staphylococci Objectives : To know Rifampicin sensitivity against Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus with in vitro approach. Method : This study used observational design. The materials were Rifampicin antibiotic and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolate collections of Laboratorium of Microbiology Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada. Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Rifampicin against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus were examined using Macrobroth Dilution and match it with CLSI standard. Results : Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of 13 Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates tested against Rifampicin were 76,92% sensitive, 7,69% intermediate, dan 15,38% resistant. Conclusion : Rifampicin has antibacterial effect and still sensitive againts Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
