HUBUNGAN PERUBAHAN KURVA SPEE DENGAN JARAK GIGIT, TUMPANG GIGIT DAN JARAK INTER KANINUS PADA PERAWATAN TEKNIK BEGG

Maloklusi Angle kelas I dapat disertai dengan jarak gigit besar, tumpang gigit dalam dan kurva Spee yang curam. Perawatan ortodontik teknik Begg memiliki keuntungan antara lain kemampuannya mengurangi jarak gigit, tumpang gigit yang berlebihan secara efektif dan leveling kurva Spee melalui pemakaian elastik intermaksiler kelas II dan anchorage bend pada kawat busur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang bagaimanakah hubungan perubahan kedalaman kurva Spee dengan perubahan jarak gigit, tumpang gigit dan jarak inter kaninus pada perawatan maloklusi Angle kelas I dengan teknik Begg. Penelitian dilakukan pada 18 pasang studi model sebelum dan sesudah perawatan, dengan kriteria inklusi maloklusi kelas I Angle, jarak gigit >3mm, tumpang gigit>1/3 mahkota klinis gigi insisivus rahang bawah dan kedalaman kurva Spee>4mm dari subyek dengan rentang umur 18-30 tahun. Masing-masing studi model diukur perubahan kedalaman kurva Spee, jarak gigit, tumpang gigit dan jarak inter kaninus. Data perubahan pada kedalaman kurva Spee, jarak gigit, tumpang gigit dan jarak inter kaninus dianalisis dengan uji korelasi product moment Pearson dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat korelasi bermakna antara perubahan kurva Spee dengan perubahan tumpang gigit (p<0,05), sedangkan tidak terdapat korelasi antara perubahan kurva Spee dengan perubahan jarak gigit dan perubahan jarak inter kaninus.

Deep curve of Spee often accompanied class I malocclussion with large over jet and increased over bite. Curve of Spee leveling with the conjunction of anchorage bend at the mesial buccal tubes and class II intermaxillary elastic will result in bite opening as well as correction of over bite, over jet and changes of the inter canine width. The purpose of this cross sectional study was to determine the affect of curve of Spee levelling to the changes of overjet, overbite and inter canine width. This research was evaluated sample of 18 pre and post treatment dental casts of class I malocclusion with overjet>3mm, overbite >one third clinical crown of lower incicors, and depth of curve of Spee>4m, from 18 to 30 years old subject. The depth of curve of Spee, overjet, overbite and width of inter canine before and after treatment were measured. The data than analized using Product moment Pearson analysis and Regression analysis. The result showed that there were significant correlations between the decreased value of the curve of Spee and the decreased value of overbite (p<0,05) but there were no correlation between decreased value of the curve of Spee and decreased value of overjet and inter canine width.
