PENGARUH PEMBERIAN GOLD STANDARD MINUMAN ISOTONIK DAN PLAIN WATER TERHADAP STATUS HIDRASI LANSIA DENGAN MELIHAT VOLUME URIN TAMPUNG 24 JAM

2013 | Skripsi | GIZI KESEHATANLatar Belakang: Seiring bertambahnya usia pada lanjut usia, terjadi berbagai perubahan anatomi dan fungsi organ tubuh dalam mempertahankan keseimbangan cairan tubuh sehingga lansia rentan mengalami dehidrasi. Minuman isotonik mampu mengembalikan cairan dan elektrolit tubuh yang hilang selama beraktifitas. Konsumsi plain water yang berlebihan dapat menyebabkan hiponatremia yang dapat berujung pada dehidrasi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Gold Standard minuman isotonik dan Plain Water terhadap status hidrasi pada lansia dengan melihat volume urin tampung 24 jam serta mengetahui perbedaaan pengaruh pemberian Gold Standard minuman isotonik dan Plain Water terhadap status hidrasi pada lansia dengan melihat volume urin tampung 24 jam . Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan uji klinis eksperimental dengan rancangan crossover yang melibatkan 18 orang lanjut usia yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Setiap subjek diberikan minuman sebanyak 1 liter per hari selama 3 hari. Pemberian dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali, yaitu Gold Standard minuman isotonik dan Plain Water. Periode pergantian antar waktu pemberian (washout) adalah 4 hari. Pengukuran status hidrasi menggunakan indikator volume urin tampung 24 jam. Data yang diperoleh merupakan data kuantitatif yang dianalisa menggunakan Paired T-Test dan Independent Samples T-Test. Hasil: volume urin dari hari ke hari selama 3 hari pemberian pada kelompok perlakuan Gold Standard minuman isotonik semakin meningkat, sedangkan pada kelompok plain water semakin menurun. Namun, perubahan volume urin yang terjadi relatif kecil sehingga tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kedua kelompok perlakuan (p-value>0,05). Volume urin tampung 24 jam tidak berbeda secara signifikan antar kelompok perlakuan (p-value >0,05). Kesimpulan: Gold Standard minuman isotonik dan Plain Water tidak memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap volume urin tampung 24 jam, yaitu sama-sama mampu memperbaiki status hidrasi lansia (volume urin 998 ml) namun tidak signifikan secara statistik.
Background: With the increase in age, occur various changes of anatomy and physiological organ function to maintain the fluid balance of body which causes that the elderly are more susceptible to dehydration. Isotonic drinks are able to rehydration the body's fluids and electrolytes lost during activities. Excessive consumption of plain water can make hyponatremia, which can cause the dehydration. Objective: To determine the effect of Gold Standard isotonic drink and Plain Water of the hydration status in elderly by looking at the 24-hour urine volume and to determine the difference effect of Gold Standard isotonic drink and Plain Water of the hydration status in elderly by looking at the 24-hour urine volume. Methods: An experimental clinical trial with a crossover design involved 18 subjects who included the inclusion criteria. Each subject was administrated 1 liter of fluid per day during three days. The treatments were given in twice, that is Gold Standard isotonic drink and Plain Water. Wash out between treatments was four days. Measurement of hydration status using 24-hour urine volume indicator. The data obtained was quantitative data were analyzed using paired t-test and Independent SamplesT-Test. Result: The urine volume between the day by day during three days treatment in Gold Standard isotonic drink was increasing, while in plain water was decreasing. However, the changes in urine volume that occurs relatively small which was no difference between groups (p-value> 0,05). The 24-hour urine volume did not differ significantly between groups (p-value> 0,05). Conclusion: The Gold Standard isotonic drink and Plain Water do not give the difference effect on 24-hour urine volume, which is equally able to improve the hydration status in elderly (24 hour urine volume was about 998 ml) but not significant.
