Manga Hetalia: Axis Powers menceritakan sejarah dunia yang disajikan dalam bentuk parodi dan komedi. Manga ini dipilih karena tidak hanya untuk hiburan saja, tetapi pembaca dapat mengetahui beberapa fakta mengenai sejarah dunia. Beberapa cerita sejarah tersebut terjadi saat Perang Dunia I seperti mengenai sejarah politik, militer dan interaksi antar negara. Walaupun disajikan dalam bentuk parodi tapi nilai sejarahnya juga dapat kita ambil. Selain itu, terjemahan tersebut juga belum pernah dipakai sebagai judul tugas akhir. Dalam menerjemahkan manga ini penulis menggunakan metode komunikatif. Metode ini berusaha mempertahankan makna kontekstual bahasa sumber, baik dari segi isi maupun bahasa, sehingga pembaca bisa memahami teks terjemahan.

This manga tells about the history of the world that is presented in the form of parody and comedy. This manga was chosen because it is not just for entertainment, but readers can find out some facts about the history of the world. Some of the stories are history occurred during World War 1, such as the history of political, military and the interaction between the countries. Although it is presented in the form of parody, historical values are implied in the story. In addition, the translation of this manga has not been used as the graduating paper before. In transliting this manga, the writer uses communicative method. This method are able to maintain the contextual meaning of the source language in terms of both content and language, therefore the readers can understand the text being translated.
