PENGARUH PENYIKATAN MENGGUNAKAN BERBAGAI VARIASI BULU SIKAT GIGI TERHADAP KEKERASAN FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE JENIS POLYETHYLENE SEBAGAI CROWN AND BRIDGE

Bahan FRC dapat meningkatkan kekuatan, kekerasan, fatigue resistance, dan modulus Young. Jenis fiber yang paling sering digunakan adalah Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyikatan dengan menggunakan berbagai variasi bulu sikat gigi terhadap kekerasan pada fiber reinforced composite jenis polethylene pada crown and bridge. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode pre-post eksperimental menggunakan 24 sampel UHMWPE FRC dan dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan dengan tiap kelompok terdiri dari 4 sampel UHMWPE FRC. Variasi bulu sikat yang digunakan soft, medium, dan hard, waktu penyikatan dibagi menjadi 150 menit dan 300 menit. Data dianalisis menggunakan two way ANOVA dilanjutkan dengan LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata dan simpangan baku Δ (delta) kekerasan UHMWPE FRC pada penyikatan (dalam VHN) dengan menggunakan bulu sikat soft selama 150 menit 7,94 ± 0,56; soft selama 300 menit 13,50 ± 0,47; medium selama 150 menit 14,66 ± 0,44; medium selama 300 menit 19,29 ± 0,71; hard selama 150 menit 20,28 ± 0,57; hard selama 300 menit 24,83 ± 0,19. Uji two way ANOVA menunjukkan antar waktu dan antar bulu sikat gigi pengaruh signifikan terhadap Δ (delta) kekerasan sedangkan interaksi antar waktu dan bulu sikat gigi menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak signifikan. Uji LSD menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada kelompok variasi bulu sikat gigi. Uji T-Test menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kelompok lama waktu penyikatan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penyikatan menggunakan berbagai variasi bulu sikat dan lama waktu penyikatan berpengaruh terhadap kekerasan fiber reinforced composite jenis polyethylene.
Fiber reinforced composite (FRC) can be used as alternative resin bonded prosthesis with less tooth preparation. FRC can improve strength, hardness, fatigue resistance, and Young’s modulus. The type of fiber that commonly used is Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The purpose of this research was to know the effect of tooth brushing with variety of bristles to polyethylene type of fiber reinforced composite hardness in crown and bridge. The reaserch was conducted with pre-post experimental method with 24 UHMWPE FRC samples and divided to 6 groups, each group divided into 4 UHMWPE FRC samples. Variety of bristle that used in the research was soft, medium and hard, and the period of brushing was 150 minutes and 300 minutes. Data were analyzed using two way ANOVA followed by LSD test. The results showed that the mean and standard deviation of delta (Δ) hardness UHMWPE FRC on brushing (in VHN) using soft-bristled in 150 minutes was 7.94 ± 0.56; soft-bristled in 300 minutes was 13.50 ± 0.47; mediumbristled in 150 minutes was 14.66 ± 0.44, medium-bristled in 300 minutes was 19,29 ± 0.71; hard-bristled in 150 minutes was 20.28 ± 0.57; hard-bristled in 300 minutes was 24.83 ± 0.19. Two way ANOVA test showed the time and the bristles toothbrush were significantly different with Δ (delta) of the hardness while the interaction between the time and the bristles toothbrush had no significantly different. LSD test showed the difference Δ (delta) of the hardness significantly on group bristle variations. T-Test showed the difference Δ (delta) of the hardness significantly on group bristle variations. From this study, it can be concluded that brushing with varying textures of bristles toothbrush and period of brushing have influence to the hardness of fiber reinforced composite with polyethylene type.
