PT. Atsumi adalah perusahaan yang sudah cukup lama berdiri di Indonesia. Perusahaan ini bergerak dibidang otomotif yaitu produksi gear. Salah satu gear yang diproduksi adalah driven gear comp yang digunakan untuk mesin motor roda dua. Akan tetapi, beberapa bulan terakhir ini perusahaan sering mendapatkan claim dari pelanggan terkait proses pembubutan rata muka yang belum selesai. Claim tersebut dapat merugikan perusahaan dari segi waktu dan materi. Mesin finish cutting adalah proses yang tidak selesai tersebut. Mesin finish cutting adalah mesin bubut yang digunakan untuk pembubutan rata muka. Tuas yang berada pada mesin merupakan kendali utama untuk mengoperasikan mesin ini. Kondisi mesin membuat tuas pengendali utama mesin ini mudah tersentuh. Pada saat tuas tersebut tersenggol, maka proses pembubutan rata muka juga akan berhenti walapun proses tersebut belum selesai. Oleh sebab itu maka dilakukan perubahan pada rangkaian listrik mesin tersebut. Perubahan pada rangkaian listrik ini dimaksudkan agar jika tuas tersebut tersenggol, maka proses akan terus berjalan hingga akhir. Claim sebelum dilakukan proses improvement sebanyak lima parts. Setelah dilakukan perubahan, terhitung dari bulan Maret 2013 hingga Juni 2013 tidak terjadi lagi claim oleh pelanggan. Dari data tersebut terjadi penurunan secara signifikan setelah dilakukan proses perubahan tersebut.

However, in recent months companies often get a claim from the customer about unfinished facing processes. Claim can be detrimental to the company in terms of time and cost. Machine finish cutting is a not completed process of the production. Finish cutting machine is used for facing process. Lever is located on this machine is the main control to operate. When the lever is bumped, then the process of turning average face will stop even though the process is not yet finished. Therefore it made changes to the electrical circuit of the machine. Changes in the electrical circuit is intended that if the lever is bumped, then the process will continue to run until the end. Claim prior to the improvement to the company has received of five parts. After the change, starting from March 2013 to June 2013 does not happen again claim by the customer. Claim for customer is decrease significantly after improvement.
