Tugas akhir ini berjudul “Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken sebagai Tolok Ukur Kemampuan Berbahasa Jepang (Studi Kasus Mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Jepang Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada)”. Pada tahun 2010 hingga 2012, jumlah Mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Jepang Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada yang mengikuti Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken meningkat. Peserta tersebut mempunyai berbagai alasan untuk mengikuti Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken. Penulis tertarik untuk mengetahui alasan mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Jepang Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gajah Mada mengikuti Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken serta mengetahui fungsi Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken sebagai tolok ukur kemampuan berbahasa Jepang. Penulis menggunakan metode diskriptif, pengolahan data menggunakan pengolahan data kuantitatif. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar alasan Mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa Jepang Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada mengikuti Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken yaitu untuk mengukur kemampuan bahasa Jepang mereka. Hal ini dinyatakan oleh 31 responden (65%). 83 responden menyatakan bahwa fungsi Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken yaitu sebagai tolok ukur kemampuan berbahasa Jepang.

This final assignment entitle “Japanese Language Proficiency Test as The Measurement of Mastering Japanese Skills (Case Study of The Student of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University)”. In 2010 until 2012, the number Student of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University of Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken participants increase significantly. There are various reasons for the to participate in this test. The writer is interested to know the reasons behind the participation of the students of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University in Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken as well as knowing the function of the test as the measurement of their Japanese skills ability. The writer uses descriptive method while in analyzing the data, the writer uses qualitative method. The results of the research are majority of the students of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University participate in the test to measure their Japanese skills it is expressed by 31 respondents (65%). 83 respondents state that the function of the Nihingo Nooryoku Shiken is to measure their Japanese skills ability.
