Suatu proses produksi dalam pelaksanaanya tidak akan lepas dari permasalahan tentang suplay base paper yang akan digulung, hal ini merupakan suatu permasalahan yang menjadi faktor utama dalam proses produksi, jika proses suplay base paper masih terlambat maka proses tersebut belum terkendali dengan baik. Beranjak dari permasalahan tersebut penulis melakukan penelitian di PT. Pindo Deli Pulp And Paper Mills yang memproduksi kertas kemasan, disini penulis menuangkan ide/improvement pada bagian spool cart rewinder NCR yang memproduksi jenis kertas NCR. Spool Cart merupakan salah satu alat untuk mentransfer base paper yang memiliki peranan penting pada proses rewinder. Spool cart berfungsi sebagai kereta pengangkut base paper atau spool kosong yang akan ditransfer dari paper machine/coater NCR ke mesin Ching-Lai atau dari mesin Ching-Lai ke paper machine/coater NCR. Spool cart di mesin rewinder sendiri hanya dapat membawa satu spool base paper saja. Setelah dimodifikasi spool cart ini dapat membawa dua spool base paper secara langsung, dengan spool cart dapat langsung membawa dua spool secara langsung maka dapat meminimalisir efisiensi waktu. Dengan spool cart didesain dapat membawa dua spool sekaligus perusahaan dapat memperoleh keuntungan kuantitatif diantaranya: efektifitas dalam mentransfer spool/base paper, desain asli tidak berubah, safety dalam bekerja tetap terjaga. Spool cart ini digerakkan oleh motor DC.

A production process in the implementation will not be separated from base paper supply problem which will be rolled, this is a problem which becomes the main factor in the production process, if the base paper supply process is still late so that process has not well-controlled yet. From the problem above, the writer do a research in PT. Pindo Deli Pulp and Paper Mills that produce paper packaging, here the writer create an idea/improvement in the part of spool cartrewinder NCR that produce a kind of NCR paper. Spool cart is one of instrument for transferring base paper which has a role in the rewinder process. Spool cart has a function as base paper conveyer or empty spool which is transferred from paper machine/NCR coater to Ching-Lai machine or from Ching-Lai machine to paper machine/NCR coater. Spool cart in the rewinder machine itself is only can bring one spool base paper. After it is modified the spool cart can bring two spool base paper directly, by using spool cart which can bring two spools directly so it can minimize time efficiency. By using spool cart which be designed can bring two spools at once the company can get qualitative benefit, such as: effectiveness in the pool/ base paper transfer, the original design don’t change, safety at work is maintained. The spool cart is driven by DC motor.
