Sepeda motor merupakan salah satu alat transportasi modern. Pada sepeda motor, terdapat beberapa sistem pada mesin yang saling bekerja sama sehingga mesin sepeda motor tersebut bisa bekerja dengan baik. Pada penerapannya, mesin sepeda motor Honda Astrea C100 dipakai sebagai media praktikum untuk membantu mahasiswa mempelajari prinsip kerja motor bakar 4 langkah. Namun pada praktiknya, beberapa proses yang dilakukan mahasiswa kurang sesuai dengan Standar Operasional Prosedur yang telah diajarkan sehingga menyebabkan kerusakan pada beberapa komponen mesin. Pada kegiatan rekondisi,terdapat beberapa metode yang digunakan untuk memperoleh sumber data yang akurat. Metode-metode tersebut antara lain: Metode pertama yaitu mencari dan mempelajari buku referensi di perpustakan mengenai sistem bahan bakar, sistem kelistrikan dan sistem pengapian. Metode kedua yaitu dengan melakukan observasi/ pengamatan secara langsung ke bengkel. Metode ketiga yaitu melakukan wawancara/ Tanya jawab dengan beberapa mekanik. Dan metode yang terakhir adalah melakukan analisa pada saat proses rekondisi. Setelah dilakukan proses rekondisi, sistem-sistem yang bekerja pada sepeda motor Honda Astrea C100 dapat bekerja dengan baik. Bagaimanapun, sebuah Engine Trainer dibutuhkan untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami prinsip kerja motor 4 langkah.

Motorcycle is one of the modern vehicle of transportation. On a motorcycle, there are so many systems which can support performance of the engine it self so that engine can work well. On application, the engine of Honda Astrea C100 is used learning practice media in order to help the student to understand how a simple four stroke engine works. But on the applicatios, there are so many actions wich are not allowed to be done by student, because it make several component. In reconditions activity, there are several methods to obtain the accurate data source. The methods are used like: First methods is conducting library study to get the working principles of the fuel system, electrical system, and ignition system. The second methods is direct observation to the workshop. The third methods is interviewing some mechanics in the workshop. And the last methods is analyzing the recondition action. The result based on the recondition is the working system of Honda Astrea C100 can work well. Therefore, the training kit can help the student to understand how four stroke engine works.
