MONITORING SITUASI KEJADIAN PENYAKIT KOKSIDIOSIS TAHUN 2012 DI BALAI BESAR VETERINER WATES

Praktek Kerja Lapangan Program Diploma III Kesehatan Hewan Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta tahun 2013 dilaksanakan di Balai Besar Veteriner (BBVet) Wates. Balai Besar Veteriner Wates merupakan suatu unit pelaksana teknis yang berada di bawah dan bertanggung jawab kepada Direktorat Jenderal Bina Produksi Ternak dan Kesehatan Hewan yang bertugas melaksanakan penyidikan, pengujian veteriner, pengembangan teknik, metode penyidikan dan pengujian veteriner. Praktek Kerja Lapangan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15-19 April 2013 di Laboratorium Epidemiologi dan Laboratorium Parasitologi, dengan tujuan mengetahui situasi kejadian penyakit yang disebabkan oleh protozoa tahun 2012. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah mengetahui kejadian koksidiosis, jumlah sampel kiriman yang masuk, jumlah sampel yang positif mengandung oosista koksidia dan mengetahui uji yang digunakan. Dari data monitoring situasi kejadian koksidiosis tahun 2012 di Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, total kiriman sampel sejumlah 6.187 dari wilayah layanan seperti Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur serta wilayah lain seperti Jawa Barat dan Sumatera Utara, dari sampel tersebut 2.036 diantaranya positif mengandung oosista koksidia dengan presentase kejadian kasus 32,91%, terdapat pada hewan anjing, kelinci, domba/kambing, sapi/kerbau dan kucing yang disebabkan oleh genus Eimeria spp. Uji yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui parasit tersebut adalah uji apung metode Whitlock dengan prinsip menemukan dan menghitung telur/oosista protozoa yang mengapung dalam kamar hitung Whitlock.

Job training was held on 15-19 April 2013 at the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Parasitology Laboratory, with the aim of knowing the situation of the incidence of diseases caused by protozoa in 2012. Activities undertaken is to know the incidence of coccidiosis, the number of shipments that enter the sample, number of samples positive for oocyst koksidia and determine which test is used. Incidence of coccidiosis monitoring data situation in 2012 at the Center for Veterinary Wates, a total sample of 6,187 submissions from service areas such as Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java as well as other areas such as West Java and North Sumatra, including 2,036 of the samples tested positive for oocyst koksidia with a percentage of 32.91% incidence of cases, there is in dogs, rabbits, sheep / goat, cattle / buffalo and cats caused by the genus Eimeria spp. Test is performed to determine the parasite is floating test method with the principle Whitlock find and calculate the egg / oocyst protozoa.
