DIAGNOSA VIRUS Newcastle disease (ND) BERDASARKAN PENGAMATAN HISTOPATOLOGI DI BALAI BESAR VETERINER WATES, YOGYAKARTA TAHUN 2010-2012

Newcastle Disease (ND) adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus Avian paramyxovirus dari keluarga Paramyxoviridae. Newcastle disease merupakan penyakit menular yang melibatkan saluran respirasi berbagai lesi pada organ ayam. Pengamatan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan berbagai kasus lesi secara histopatologis pada organ ayam terinfeksi virus Newcastle disease yang ditemui pada saat di lapangan. Penyusunan Tugas Akhir ini berdasarkan pengambilan data sampel histopatologis positif Newcastle disease di Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta tahun 2010-2012. Pengambilan data sampel histopatologis positif Newcastle disease dilakukan dengan pewarnaan rutin Hematoxyline dan Eosin (H&E). Selama pengamatan melakukan wawancara serta mencari beberapa referensi buku atau jurnal mengenai data Newcastle disease di perpustakaan Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta. Hasil pengamatan Newcastle disease secara histopatologis menunjukkan adanya perdarahan pada organ proventikulus dan intestinum (jejunum, ileum, duodenum). Secara limfoit pengamatan ini menunjukkan adanya perivascular cuffing pada otak.

Newcastle disease (ND) is a disease caused by an Avian paramyxovirus from the family Paramyxoviridae. It is a higly contagious disease that involves the respiratory tract in various species of poultry, especially chickens. The objective of this study was to find a variety of histopathologic lesions in chickens organs infected with Newcastle disease virus found on the field cases. The samples used for this final report were the data of positive histopathologic samples of Newcastle disease at the Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta in the years 2010-2012. The Positive histopathologic Newcastle disease sample data collected had been stained with a routine hematoxyline and eosin. During the study we also did some interviews and digging up some books and/or journalys references related to the Newcastle disease cases at the library Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta. Histopathologic lesions of the Newcastle disease found were petechiae hemorrhages in the proventiculus and small intestinal involving jejunum, ileum, and duodenum. Whereas the lymphoid perivascular cuffings were also found in the brains.
