Sering ditemui pada bengkel-bengkel di pinggir jalan yang masih menggunakan alat tambal ban yang menggunakan BBM khususnya minyak tanah, padahal kuantitas minyak di negara ini semakin hari sudah semakin langka. Selain alat tambal ban yang menggunakan minyak tanah, ada juga yang menggunakan elemen pemanas, akan tetapi disini masih terjadi kelemahan yakni alat ini memiliki alat pres yang belum stabil dan sesekali si tukang tambal ban harus mengecek apakah kompon sudah matang atau malah ban leleh karena terlalu lama. Untuk memberikan solusi dari masalah-masalah di atas, kini hadir alat tambal ban elektrik berbasis mikrokontroler. Keistimewaan alat ini yakni si penambal tidak perlu takut ban meleleh ataupun kompon belum matang, karena apabila timer telah mencapai waktu yang ditentukan maka elemen akan otomatis OFF, alat press lebih stabil, suhu yang digunakan untuk melelehkan kompon stabil, memiliki 2 buah swicth untuk memilih ketebalan kompon yang digunakan, serta dilengkapi penampil berupa LCD untuk menampilkan suhu pada elemen serta timer yang berjalan.
