STRATEGI MENGURANGI NON CONFORMITY COST DENGAN MENGIMPLEMENTASI SIX SIGMA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengurangi adanya biaya tambahan yang terjadi akibat adanya kegagalan pada proses perakitan LV Box (Non Conformity Cost – NCC). Langkah awal untuk menurunkan NCC adalah dengan mengetahui penyebab terbesar terjadinya kegagalan pada proses perakitan LV Box. Data pengujian diperoleh dari data Non Conformity Report (NCR) di 10 proyek yang telah selesai pada tahun bisnis 2011-2012. Penelitian ini menguji nilai defect rate dan nilai Sigma awal sebelum dilakukannya perbaikan dengan metode six sigma. Analisa pada penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor terbesar yang menyebabkan terjadinya NCR. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan ada empat faktor terbesar yang menyebabkan terjadinya NCR, yaitu adanya perbedaan kualitas pada material, adanya perbedaan spesifikasi pada material, tidak mengikuti urutan pekerjaan dan sering terjadinya perubahan gambar pada saat proses perakitan LV Box. Dengan menggunakan metode six sigma dan fokus pada keempat faktor tersebut maka nilai defect rate dan nilai sigma yang terjadi mengalami perbaikan. Dengan adanya perbaikan pada nilai defect rate dan nilai sigma maka nilai NCC yang terjadi mengalami penurunan sehingga proses perakitan LV Box semakin efisien.

The purpose of this research is to reduce the additional costs incurred as a result of a failure in LV Box assembly process (Non-Conformity Cost – NCC). The first step to reduce the NCC is found the biggest cause of failure in the LV Box assembly process. Test data obtained from Non-Conformity Report (NCR) data in 10 projects have been completed in business year 2011-2012. This research examined the value of defect rate and the value of Sigma before the improvements to the six sigma method. The analysis in this research was conducted to determine the biggest factor that caused the NCR. The findings of this research suggest there are four of the biggest factors that cause NCR, those are the difference in the quality of the material, the difference in the specifications of the material, do not follow the sequence of work and often the drawing changes during the assembly process of LV Box. By using the six sigma method and focus on the four factors, the value of defect rate and the value of Sigma is improved. With the improvement in the value of defect rate and the value of Sigma, NCC is decreased hence that the LV Box assembly process more efficient.
