PENGARUH KONSENTRASI EKSTRAK REBUSAN KULIT KAYU TINGI TERHADAP MUTU KULIT KAKAP PUTIH TERSAMAK

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak rebusan kulit kayu tingi terhadap mutu kulit kakap putih tersamak. Rancangan percobaan yang dipakai adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit kayu tingi, masing-masing: 5% (a1), 7,5% (a2), 10% (a3), 12,5% (a4), dan 15% (a5) dengan 3 kali ulangan. Parameter mutu kulit yang diamati yaitu sifat fisik [ketebalan (mm), kekuatan tarik (N/cm2), kemuluran (%), kekuatan sobek (N/cm), suhu kerut (ºC), kelemasan (mm)], dan sifat kimia [kadar lemak (%)]. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan analisis varian, dan dilanjutkan dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada tingkat signifikansi 95% (α. 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terlihat bahwa nilai ketebalan sampel kulit kakap putih tersamak dari perlakuan a1, a2, a3, a4, a5 berturut-turut: 0,69; 0,61; 0,60; 0,69; dan 0,68 mm. Kekuatan tarik berturut-turut: 639,75; 926,27; 923,13; 809,37; dan 753,51 N/cm2. Kemuluran berturut-turut : 33,82; 35,70; 34,52; 38,10; dan 23,35 %. Kekuatan sobek berturut-turut: 186,72; 341,37; 335,32; 431,39; dan 182,47 N/cm. Suhu kerut berturutturut: 76,33; 76,00; 81,00; 83,33; dan 81,33 ºC. Kelemasan berturut-turut: 1,79; 1,65; 1,72; 1,57; dan 1,75 mm. Kadar lemak berturut-turut: 6,70; 7,58; 7,95; 8,34; dan 7,87 %. Berdasarkan hasil analisis keseluruhan, rata-rata semua parameter telah memenuhi syarat mutu SNI 06-4586-1988 tentang kulit tersamak ular air tawar samak krom. Konsentrasi 12,5% (a4) merupakan perlakuan terbaik karena memiliki nilai parameter tertinggi.

The aim of research was to find out the concentration effect of extract stew bark on the quality of tanned skin barramundi. This research used completely random design with treatment concentration bark extract of tingi, they were : 5%(a1), 7.5%(a2), 10%(a3), 12.5% (a4), and 15% (a5 ) with 3 replications. The quality parameters were physical properties [thickness (mm), tensile strength (N/cm2), elongation at break (%), tear strength (N/cm), shrinkage temperature (ºC), softness (mm), and chemical properties that is fat content (%)]. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance method and subsequently by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) on significant of 95% (α. 0.05). Based on this research, the thickness of tanned skin of barramundi from each treatment, they were respectively: 0.69;0.61; 0.60;0.69, and 0.68mm. Tensile strength were: 639.75; 926.27; 923.13; 809.37, and 753.51N/cm2. Elongation at break were: 33.82; 35.70; 34.52; 38.10, and 23.35%. Tear strength were: 186.72; 341.37; 335.32; 431.39, and 182.47N/cm. Temperature wrinkle were: 76.33; 76.00; 81.00; 83.33, and 81.33ºC. Softness were: 1.79; 1.65; 1.72;1.57, and 1.75mm. Fat content were: 6.70; 7.58; 7.95; 8.34, and 7.87%. Based on the analysis, average of all parameter have fulfilled the requirements of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 06-4586-1988 about of fresh water snake skin leather tanned chrome. Concentration of 12.5% (a4) is the best treatment because it has the highest parameter values.
