DASAR EPISTEMOLOGI ILMU KOGNITIF DALAM TINJAUAN PEMIKIRAN TIGA DUNIA KARL RAIMUND POPPER

Tesis ini berjudul “Dasar Epistemologi Ilmu Kognitif Dalam Tinjauan Pemikiran Tiga Dunia Karl Raimund Popper”. Pemikiran tiga dunia adalah salah satu pemikiran yang terpenting dari Karl R. Popper, karena pemikiran tiga dunia merupakan dasar ontologis, dan juga dasar epistemologis dari filsafat Karl R. Popper. Pemikiran tiga dunia Karl R. Popper ini kemudian akan digunakan untuk melihat dasar epistemologi dari ilmu kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menguraikan pengertian dan persoalan utama di dalam ilmu kognitif, (2) menemukan dasar epistemologi di dalam ilmu kognitif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pustaka dengan menggunakan beberapa metode, seperti: Interpretasi untuk memahami isi dari data yang telah ditemukan secara objektif di dalam pemikiran ‘tiga dunia’ Karl R. Popper, Deskripsi untuk menjelaskan definisi dari unsur-unsur, dan persoalan-persoalan yang terdapat di dalam ilmu kognitif dan pemikiran ‘tiga dunia’ Karl R. Popper, Koherensi Intern untuk menemukan dan menghubungkan struktur komprehensif dari persoalan epistemologi yang dibangun oleh Karl R. Popper dalam ‘tiga dunia’, dan Heuristika untuk menemukan hal baru yang terdapat dalam dasar epistemologi dari ilmu kognitif, jika ditinjau dari pemikiran tiga dunia Karl R. Popper. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pemikiran tiga dunia Karl R. Popper membagi realitas yang terdiri dari dunia fisik sebagai dunia pertama, dunia proses pemikiran sebagai dunia kedua, dan dunia hasil proses pemikiran sebagai dunia ketiga. Bentuk epistemologi dari ilmu kognitif dalam tinjauan pemikiran tiga dunia Karl R. Popper adalah bahwa pengetahuan objektif didapatkan melalui pemahaman atas ‘thought content’, kemudian dikritisi oleh justifikasi kebenaran,tanpa melibatkan proses justifikasi moral.

The title of this tesis is \"The Epistemology Background Of Cognitive Science In Perspective Of Karl Raimund Popper's Three World\". The thought of Three World is the one of the most important work from Karl R. Popper, because The Three World is ontological, and also epistemological basis of Karl R Popper's philosophy. This Karl R. Popper's Three World thought, then will be use for looking the basic epistemology in cognitive science. The aims of this research is to: (1) describe the definition and the main problems of cognitive science, (2) find epistemology background in cognitive science. This research is a library researched using several methods, i.e: Interpretation - to understand the contents of data which been found in Karl R. Popper's Three World; Description - to clarify definition of the elements, and problems which contained in cognitive science and Karl R. Popper's Three World; Internal Coherence - to find and connect the comprehensive structure of epistemological problems that was built by Karl R. Popper; and Heuristics - to discover new things which could be found in epistemology background of cognitive science, when viewed from the perspective of Karl R. Popper's Three World. The result of this research is Karl R. Popper Three World divides reality consisting of physical world as first world, the world of thought process as second world, and result of thought process world as third world. The epistemology form of cognitive science in the perspective of Karl R. Popper's Three World, is that objective knowledge gained throught the understanding of 'thought content', then criticized by truth justification, without involving the moral justification's process.
