Penelitian ini membahas pertunjukan wayang kulit yang dikemas dalam format seleksi dalam Seleksi Dalang Profesional Yogyakarta Tahun 2008. Pemilihan peristiwa ini sebagai bahan penelitian dilandasi tidak adanya peristiwa serupa sampai tulisan ini dibuat. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur pertunjukan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan melihat peran identitas, mengingat pertunjukan wayang kulit yang harus dipentaskan oleh para dalang peserta seleksi adalah wayang kulit gaya Yogyakarta yang sarat dengan persoalan identitas. Ideologi juga merupakan faktor penting dalam pertunjukan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk melihat peran ideologi bagi para dalang peserta seleksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah perekaman pertunjukan secara langsung, baik audio maupun video, diperkuat dengan telaah pustaka. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dalam analisis formal untuk membongkar struktur pertunjukan. Hasil analisis formal dimanfaatkan untuk melihat peran identitas dan ideologi dalam pertunjukan. Kata kunci: struktur pertunjukan, identitas, ideologi, wayang kulit Penelitian ini memperlihatkan struktur pertunjukan yang tidak sama dengan struktur pertunjukan wayang kulit secara umum akibat penyesuaian para dalang terhadap aturan-aturan yang ditetapkan oleh penyelenggara. Identitas personal maupun identitas kolektif tampak mewarnai pertunjukan para dalang. Di sini terlihat kepiawaian dalang dalam mengekspresikan ide-ide personalnya tanpa harus mengorbankan identitas kolekfif. Ideologi konservatif dan ideologi pengembangan dikemas oleh para dalang melalui pertunjukannya. Selain itu ideologi kompetitif juga melekat pada pertunjukan, dilihat dari kepatuhan para peserta pada batas-batas yang ditetapkan penyelenggara. Ideologi kompetitif menjadi ideologi dominan dalam pertunjukan para dalang peserta seleksi.

show This study discusses a shadow puppet packaged in a format in the Yogyakarta Professional Puppeteer Selection Year 2008. This event was chosen as a research object based on the absence of the similar event up to this article made. The main objective of the research is to find out the structure of the performance. The study also aims at looking at the role identity dealing with the puppet show performed by the puppet masters as the contestants. The show is performed with Yogyakarta style which is full of identity problems. Ideology is also an important factor in the show. Therefore, this study also aims at looking at the role of the ideology for the contestants. method The method used in collecting the data is recording performances directly, either audio or video, reinforced by literature review. Descriptive Qualitative used in the formal analysis to reveal or to uncover the structure of the performance. The results of the formal analysis later used to see the role of identity and ideology in the show. is This study shows that the structure of the performance not the same as that of the common shadow puppet show due to the adjustment of the puppeteers to the rules set by the organizers. Personal and collective identity appeared in the puppet show. Here, the puppeteers could express their personal ideas without eliminating their collective identity. There were three puppeteer ideologies: conservative, development and competitif ideologies, and the competitif ideology is the dominant ideology.
