Analisis Strategi Bersaing PT. Varuna Tirta Prakasya Dalam Industri Logistik di Indonesia

Maksud dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan bersaing strategi fungsional yang selama ini dilaksanakan dan mengidentifikasi strategi fungsional alternatif yang hendaknya digunakan pada kegiatan freight forwarding dan bongkar muat (stevedoring) PT. Varuna Tirta Prakasya di industri Third Party Logistic (3PL). Penelitian ini menggunakan data perusahaan berupa laporan keuangan perusahaan 2009/2010, wawancara dan hasil riset dari Logistic Performaance Index (LPI). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, dan Value Chain sebagai alat analisis. Penelitian ini melihat kegiatan utama dan pendukung untuk menyimpulkan kemampuan bersaing strategi fungsional dan identifikasi strategi fungsional alternatif. Hasil analisis dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat tiga strategi yang gagal diwujudkan oleh PT. Varuna Tirta Prakasya yaitu; Restrukturisasi hutang kepada Bank Mandiri dan dengan melakukan penjualan saham karena PT. VTP dianggap belum sanggup untuk membayar hutang, pemupukan modal kerja minimal sebesar Rp. 2 Miliar, fokus pada revitalisasi SDM karena pegawai PT. VTP yang semakin tahun semakin berkurang jumlahnya.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional ability of competing strategies that have been implemented and identify alternative functional strategies should be used in the activities of freight forwarding and Stevedoring PT. Varuna Tirta Prakasya in the industry of Third Party Logistic (3PL). This study used data in the form of corporate financial statements 2009/2010, interviews and research results from Logistic Performance Index (LPI). This study used qualitative methods with SWOT, Porter's Five Forces and Value Chain as an analytical tool. The research looked at the primary and supporting activities to conclude the competitive ability of functional strategies and identification of alternative functional strategies. There are three failure implementation strategies of PT. Varuna Tirta Prakasya from the results of the research, which are; Restructuring of debts to Bank Mandiri and by selling the stock are failed because of PT. VTP is considered not afford to pay the debt, accumulating the capital budget of 2 billion rupiahs is failed because it is not achieved, focus on the revitalization of human resources of PT. VTP is considered fail because it is increasingly diminishing in number over years.
