PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN BINDER ALAMI PADA PROSES FINISHING KULIT CAKAR AYAM TERSAMAK TERHADAP KEKUATAN SOBEK DAN KETAHANAN GOSOK CAT

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari penggunaan binder alami (putih telur dan kasein dari susu sapi segar), sebagai pengganti binder paten pada kulit cakar ayam tersamak terhadap kekuatan sobek dan ketahanan gosok cat. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu kulit cakar ayam dengan menggunakan perlakuan variasi konsentrasi binder alami, yaitu: 5%, 10%, 15% (b/V) dan dosis penggunaan: 5%, 10% dan 15% (V/V) kemudian diuji kekuatan sobek (SNI. 06-1794-1990) dan ketahanan gosok (SNI. 06-1996-1989). Analisis data hasil pengujian kekuatan sobek dan ketahanan gosok cat menggunakan analisis rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial. Perlakuan yang menunjukkan beda secara nyata untuk masing-masing perlakuan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara masingmasing konsentrasi binder alami 5%,10% dan 15% maupun dosis penggunaan binder alami 5%,10% dan 15% menunjukkan tidak berbeda nyata terhadap kekuatan sobek dan ketahanan gosok cat kain basah kecuali terhadap ketahanan gosok cat kain kering untuk binder alami kasein menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,01) antara konsentrasi, dosis penggunaan dan interaksinya. Sedangkan hasil uji t masing-masing bahan binder menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beda nyata antara bahan binder albumin,kasein dan campuran dengan bahan binder patent Leuron E dan Compact terhadap ketahanan gosok cat kain basah maupun kain kering (P<0,01). Sebaliknya tidak berbeda nyata terhadap kekuatan sobek kulit samak cakar ayam, dimana kekuatan sobek tertinggi adalah binder campuran (18,55 kg/cm), Leuron E (17.96 kg/cm) dan Compact (19,13 kg/cm). Kesimpulan , kekuatan sobek dan ketahanan gosok cat kain basah akibat perlakuan konsentrasi dan dosis binder alami masih sama, kecuali binder kasein telah mampu mempengaruhi ketahanan gosok cat kain kering. Semua hasil pengujian binder alami ketahanan gosok cat kain basah maupun kain kering memenuhi SNI 06.0996.1989.

The study was conducted to investigate the natural binder applied as a patent binder replacement into a poultry shank skin on the torn strength and abrasive resistance of painted leather. The material applied were skins of poultry shank, treated by concentration and dose of natural and patent binder of (5%,10% and 15%), respectively. The parameter measurement were strength, paint abrasive resistance by dry and wet cloth. Treatment with 3 replications, respectively. The results indicated that by statistical analysis of completely randomized design (CRD) 3x3, that all consentrations and all doses utility of natural, binder (Albumin, casein and its combinations) did not affected significantly on torn strength, wet brush abrasive resistance and dry brush abrasive resistance; excepted for casein binder concentration and utility doses werw significant effect (P<0,01) on dry brush abrasive resistance; and both treatments (Concentration and doses) werw significantly interaction (P<0,01). No differed significantly were observed between natural binders and imported binders on torn strength, and the highest tornstrength was the combination albumin-casein binder (18,55 kg/cm) and the imported binder of Leuron E was (17,96 kg/cm) and the compact binder was (19,13 kg/cm). Between natural binder and imported binder were tested by t –test, and showed that there were significant different (P<0,01) between natural binder and imported binder on dry brush and wet brush abrasive resistance, respectively. The conclusion, torn strength, wet brush abrasive resistance resulted by concentration and doses trials was resulted the better dry brush abrasive resistance. All measurement was still fulfiment requirement nationally standar quality No.06.1996.1989
