Exclusive breastfeeding has many benefits for children’s development. Unfortunately the breastfeeding rate in Indonesia is still low (<80%). Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study investigated the effect of exclusive breastfeeding attitude, social references belief, and exclusive breastfeeding control to the intention of early adulthood woman to breastfeed exclusively. Participants of this study (n=131) are unmarried woman, age between 21-25 years old, and minimum studied as college student. This research used quantitative approach by survey method. Four scales were used to collect the data, consist of exclusive breastfeeding attitude scale, social references belief scale, exclusive breastfeeding control scale, and exclusive breastfeeding intention scale. The results of regression analysis with stepwise method showed that exclusive breastfeeding attitude and exclusive breastfeeding control predicted exclusive breastfeeding intention (F=22.146; p=0.000; R2=0.257). The social references belief variable failed to meet statistical criteria (p=0.851). The exclusive breastfeeding control has stronger influence to the exclusive breastfeeding intention (B=0.642) than the exclusive breastfeeding attitude in early adulthood woman (B=0.225). The regression line form for this predictor’s model is: Ŷ (intention) = 15.72 + 0.64 (control) + 0.22 (attitude).
