PELATIHAN MANAJEMEN STRES UNTUK MENURUNKAN STRES KERJA PERAWAT RUMAH SAKIT JIWA

2012 | Tesis | S2 Magister Profesi PsikologiPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pelatihan manajemen stres terhadap penurunan stres kerja yang dialami perawat jiwa. Perawat jiwa memiliki karakteristik tugas yang lebih khusus sebab pasien tidak memiliki kesadaran diri. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 orang perawat di sebuah Rumah Sakit Jiwa di Medan yang memiliki tingkat stres kerja sedang dan tinggi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan membagi subjek secara acak ke dalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen adalah kelompok yang menerima intervensi berupa pelatihan manajemen stres, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak menerima intervensi. Sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, seluruh subjek diminta untuk mengisi skala Occupational Stress Inventory-Personal Strain Questionnaire (OSI-PSQ). Khusus untuk kelompok eksperimen, sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan juga diberikan skala keterampilan mengelola stres. Hal ini berfungsi untuk mengetahui apakah pelatihan manajemen stres memang meningkatkan keterampilan mengelola stres (sebagai validasi pelatihan). Sebelum disajikan saat pelatihan, modul pelatihan melewati proses professional judgement dan uji coba modul secara empirik. Hasil analisis dengan anava campuran menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan manajemen stres secara signifikan dapat menurunkan stres kerja perawat rumah sakit jiwa (F = 56,661; p<0,05).
This research was aimed to test the influence of stress management training toward work stress reduce that was encountered by nurses in mental hospital. Nurses in mental hospital has more specific characteristic of doing their duty because their patients do not have self consciousness. The subjects of this research were 30 nurses in a mental hospital in Medan, and they had medium and high stress level. The research was done by dividing the subjects randomly into two groups; those were experimental group and control group. Experimental group was the group which received an intervention of stress management training, while control group did not receive the intervention. Before and after the training, all of the subjects were asked to fill Occupational Stress Inventory-Personal Strain Questionnaire (OSI-PSQ) scale. Particularly for experimental group, before and after the training they were given stress management skill scale. This scale was aimed to investigate whether stress management training would really increase stress management skill (as training validation). Before performed in the training, training module had to pass professional judgment process and empirical module test. The result of the analysis with mixed anava showed that stress management training could significantly reduce work stress of nurses in mental hospital (F = 56.661; p < 0.05)
