BOVINE HYDROXYAPATITE SEBAGAI PENGGANTI TULANG (Evaluasi Struktur dan Percobaan pada Hewan Coba)

Pendahuluan Sintetik Hydroxyapatite darisumberkalsiumalamimenjadikansintetik bone graft lebihterjangkau. MetodePenelitian Penelitianinimengevaluasidanmembandingkanstruktur Bovine Hydroxyapatite buatan UGM dengansintetik bone graft komersilmelaluipemeriksaan X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) dan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Dilanjutkandenganevaluasiradioligisdanhistologispenyembuhantulang femur RattusNovergicussetelahpembuatan critical size defect kemudianimplantasikedua graft. Hasil Didapatkan crystal hydroxyapatite dari bovine hydroxyapatite sesuaidenganstandar JCPDS danpadahasil SEM mempunyaipermukaan yang kasardenganporiinterkoneksi 100 – 500 µm. Tidakdidapatkanperbedaan yang signifikanpadaevaluasipenyembuhantulangpada bovine hydroxyapatite dengansintetik graft komersil. Skorradiologis ISOLS p=0,06danskorhistologis p=0,102 padaujistatistik Mann Whitney U test. Simpulan Bovine Hydroxyapatite buatan UGM memiliki material yang sesuaidengan standard JCPDS dengangambaranstrukturporidanpenyembuhantulang yang sebandingdengansintetik hydroxyapatite komersil.

Introduction Synthetic hydroxyapatite from natural source of calcium will make hydroxyapatite graft more affordable Method This study evaluate and compare the structure of bovine hydroxyapatite produced by GadjahMada University with commercial synthetic hydroxyapatite using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) followed by comparing bone healing radiographically and histologically after applicating the grafts into critical sized defect of femoral bone of rattusnovergicus. Results Similar material compared to JCPDS standard, on SEM showed rugged surface with interconnected porous and a diameter of 100 – 500 µm. No significant difference on the bone healing of both grafts, radioligic score p=0,06, histologic score p=0,102 using Mann Whitney U test. Conclusion Bovine hydroyapatite produced by GadjahMada University has a very similar material compared to JCPDS standard with porous structure and bone healing comparable to commercial synthetic hydroxyapatite.
