The high number of divorces filed by women in almost all provinces in Indonesia is the background of this research. The study tested the explanatory model of intentions for divorce based on the theory of social exchange (social exchange theory), theory of planned behavior and model of dissolution by Amato and Rogers (1997). This model is expected to explain the factors that influence women's intentions for divorce, both of which affect directly, or indirectly A total of 197 subjects who participated in this study is the wife who has filed for divorce in a religious court in several districts / cities in South Sulawesi. Gauge the scale of the study consisted of intentions for divorce and marital relationships developed by the researcher based on theoretical constructs of each factor were tested. The theoretical model developed was tested by analysis of Structural Equation Models (Arbuckle & Wothke, 1995). Conclusions from the results of data analysis research as follows: the intention of divorce can be explained by the strong appeal of a negative relationship (domestic violence, infidelity and irresponsible), barriers to divorce and beliefs for a better life after divorce (get a new partner who loves her). Indirect factors that contribute toward divorce intention based on the fit model is education factor.
