Peningkatan Kompetensi Supervisi Akademik Sekolah Melalui Peer Coaching di SMPN 2 Yogyakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meniliti pelaksanaan supervisi akademik dan berupaya meningkatkan kompetensi supervisi tim supervisi akademik di SMP Negeri 2 Yogyakarta. Hasil observasi menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan supervisi belum sesuai dengan konsep supervisi akademik yang sesungguhnya. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan supervisi dari Tim supervisi sekolah. Kompetensi supervisi tim supervisi akademik di SMP Negeri 2 Yogyakarta masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu perlu upaya untuk meningkatan kompetensi supervisi mereka sehingga dapat melakukan tugas supervisi dengan baik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan sekolah yang menjadikan tim supervisi sekolah menjadi subjek penelitian. Tim supervisi sekolah terdiri dari kepala sekolah dan tiga orang guru senior. Sebagai penelitian tindakan, penelitian ini melalui siklus perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refeleksi dan berlangsung selama dua siklus. Peneliti menawarkan peer coaching sebagai tindakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi supervisi tim. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi , dan hasil pre test dan post.test. Analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil pre test dan post test peserta serta menilai hasil pengamatan peneliti ketika peserta melaksanakan praktik supervisi di kelas. Hasil penelitian meyimpulkan bahwa bantuan teman sejawat atau peer coaching dapat meningkatkan kompetensi supervisi tim supervisi akademik SMP Negeri 2 Yogyakarta. Analisis data memperlihatkan peningkatan yang cukup baik dari 90,66 % pada siklus pertama menjadi 100 % pada siklus kedua. Persentase peningkatan sebesar 9,34 %. Dengan demikian penerapan peer coaching untuk meningkatkan kompetensi supervisi tim dikatakan berhasil.

This study is aimed at revealing the excecution of the academic supervision and increasing the supervision competence of the academic supervision team at Junior High School 2 Yogyakarta. Observation results show that the academic supervision is still in under-performance condition.This is due to the lack of knowledge and skill possessed by the academic supervision team.Therefore, it is better to find out any better ways to improve their knowledge and skill that will enable them to perform their duty successfully. This research is school action research that observes the team of academic supervision as the subject of the research. The team consists of school principal and tree senior teachers. As an action research, this study is conducted through planning, action, observation and reflection cycle. Peer coaching is a kind of action proposed to encrease the team’s supervision competence. Data were obtained through interviews , observation, pre test and post test. Analysis data is computed by comparing the result of the pre test and post test and by analysing the observation result during the real practice of supervision. The result of the research has led the writer to the conclusion that peer coaching is an effective way of increasing the supervision competence of the school academic supervision team at Junior High School 2 Yogyakarta. The improvement of the team’s supervision competence is quite good , from 90,66 % in the first cycle to 100 % in the second cycle. The percentage of the improvement is 9,34 %. So, it can be concluded that the application of peer coaching in improving the supervision competence of the academic supervison team at Junior High School 2 Yogyakarta is successful.
