Pengaruh Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Terhadap Peningkatan Motivasi Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Piri Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh yang signifikan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar intrinsik matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas yaitu: kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD sedangkan kelas kontrol tidak diberi perlakuan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta dengan sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIII D sebanyak 29 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII B sebanyak 29 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen motivasi belajar matematika. Sebelum melakukan eksperimen terlebih dahulu dilakukan (pre-tes). Selanjutnya dilakukan uji beda dua rerata motivasi belajar intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik siswa kondisi awal antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan uji statistik indepedent sample t test. Setelah motivasi belajar intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen tidak mempunyai perbedaan yang signifikan dilanjutkan penelitian dan setelah eksperimen selesai dilakukan Post-test pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Untuk menyelidiki perbedaan dua rerata motivasi intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik kondisi akhir post-test antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol digunakan uji statistik indepedent sample t test, untuk menyelidiki perbedaan dua rerata motivasi intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik pre-test dan post-test pada kelas kontrol menggunakan uji statistik paired sample t test. Selanjutnya untuk menyelidiki perbedaan dua rerata motivasi intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik pada kelas eksperimen digunakan uji statistik paired sample t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar intrinsik matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta.

This research was conducted to investigate the significant influence of cooperative learning under student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) towards the improvement of students’ intrinsic motivation to learn mathematics at the 8th grade of SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta. This research design was quasi experimental design. This research used two classes were experimental and control classes. Experimental class was treated by using cooperative learning under STAD whereas control class was not treated by STAD method. The population of this research was students at the 8th grade of SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta and the sample of this research was students at 8th grade of D as the experimental class and students at 8th grade of B as the control class . Each class consisted of 29 students. The instrument used in this research was the motivation questionnaire of mathematics. Before performing this research, the writer first carried out a pre-test. Afterwards, the writer conducted the difference test of students’ motivation between experiment and control classes by using independent sample t test. After knowing the students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation between experiment and control classes were not significantly different, the writer then conducted research. Afterwards, the writer conducted a post test in both experiment and control classes. The writer used independent sample t test to know the difference of students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in post test between experiment and control classes. Meanwhile, the writer used paired sample t test to know the difference of students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in both pre-test and post test. That paired sample t test was used in both experiment and control classes. The result of this research showed that the student teams achievement divisions (STAD) had significant influence towards the improvement of students’ intrinsic motivation to learn mathematics at the 8th grade of SMP PIRI Ngaglik Sleman Yogyakarta.
