Pengabaian kearifan lokal dan eksploitasi sumber daya hayati pesisir pulau-pulau kecil di kecamatan pulau-pulau Gorom

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penyebab pengabaian kearifan lokal dalam melindungi sumberdaya hayati pesisir, serta terjadinya eksploitasi sumberdaya hayati pesisir pulau-pulau kecil pada desa-desa adat di Kecamatan Pulau-Pulau Gorom. Amatan penelitian pada tiga desa adat yang telah mengabaikan adat sasi, yaitu Desa Kataloka, Desa Ondor dan Desa Kilkoda yang terletak di Pulau Gorom. Pulau Gorom merupakan salah satu pulau-pulau kecil yang memiliki budaya sendiri dalam mengkonservasi lingkungan pesisir, keanekaragaman hayati pesisir yang melimpah, serta merupakan pulau kecil dengan keterbatasan daya dukung lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa pengabaian kearifan lokal terjadi akibat beberapa faktor, yaitu: (1) lunturnya nilai-nilai leluhur dalam mengkonservasi wilayah pesisir, (2) wilayah pesisir yang terabaikan, (3) melemahnya tatanan adat, (4) Eksploitasi sumberdaya hayati pesisir, dan (5) rusaknya lingkungan pesisir pulau-pulau kecil. Pentingnya lembaga adat dalam mengontrol pemanfaatan wilayah pesisir, akan meminimalisir akibat pengabaian kearifan lokal yang berpengaruh terhadap kerentanan wilayah pesisir yang mengancam keberadaan pulau-pulau kecil. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya pengendalian tatanan adat dengan menciptakan kondisi lembaga yang kondusif untuk akan mengontrol pemanfaatan wilayah pesisir, menjaga keberadaan ekosistem pesisir, serta perlahan-lahan dapat memulihkan kondisi lingkungan pesisir Pulau Gorom.

The research aims to observe the cause of local wisdom neglect in preserving the coastal living resources and the coastal living resources exploitation in small islands in custom villages in Gorom Island’s sub-districts. The observation objects of this research are three custom villages that neglect the sasi, that are Kataloka, Ondor and Kilkoda in Gorom Islands. Gorom Island is one of small islands that have its own culture in coastal area conservation, rich coastal living resources, and a small island that has limited environment carrying capacity. The research shows that the local wisdom neglect is caused by several factors such as; (1) the erosion of ancestral values in coastal are conservation, (2) neglected coastal area, (3) the traditional order weakening, (4) coastal living resources exploitation, and (5) the damage of small islands coastal area. The decreasing role of custom institution in controlling coastal area utilization has reduced bad effect of local wisdom neglect which take effect to coastal susceptibility that threaten the existence of small islands. The Research concluded that the local wisdom of custom society in conserving the small islands coastal area through sasi labuang should be preserved and continued. The custom order restoration through creating conducive institution will control the coastal area utilization, keeping the coastal ecosystem area, and it can gradually restore the Gorom Island coastal area.
