DINAMIKA KESUKSESAN KARIR JOB-HOPPER PADA BOUNDARYLESS CAREER (Studi Fenomenologi)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dinamika kesuksesan karir job-hopper dan bagaimana para job-hopper memaknai kesuksesan karirnya pada boundaryless career. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan perspektif penelitian fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian sebanyak empat job-hopper pada level manager, serta lima significant others terdiri dari keluarga, rekan kerja, dan steady career. Alat ukur utama yang digunakan adalah wawancara yang mendalam, dan didukung dengan dokumen-dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; Job-hopper berpindah-pindah pekerjaan didasari oleh faktor intrinsic (financial, konflik, keadaan perusahaan, dan kesempatan pengembangan karir), faktor extrinsic (tantangan, keinginan untuk belajar, karakteristik personal, keluarga, dan nilai-nilai), faktor pendukung (networking, media, dan keluarga). Makna kesuksesan karir job-hopper pada boundaryless career meliputi: self-fullfilment (job satisfaction, life satisfaction, meeting personal goals, adding values to others), dan work-life balance (Kepuasan keluarga dan waktu untuk keluarga). Berpindah-pindah merupakan sarana untuk mewujudkan makna kerja dan makna kesuksesan karir bagi jobhopper.

This phenomenology qualitative research was conducted in order to know the dynamics of career success among job hopper and how did job hoppers interpret the meaning career success in boundaryless career. This research used in-depth interview for collecting the data and supported by the data from documents. The respondents involved in this research were four job hoppers in the level of manager, five significant others, such as family, workmate, and steady career. The findings revealed that: the job-hoppers individuals who frequently movement of job from one place to another place because of intrinsic factors (financial, interpersonal conflict, alternative employment opportunities, etc), extrinsic factors (challenges, willing to learn, personal characteristics, family, etc), proponent factors (networking, family support, and media). The meanings of career success among job-hopper in the boundaryless career were; self-fulfillment (job satisfaction, life satisfaction, meeting personal goals, adding values to others), and work/life balance (family satisfaction and quality time with family). This study showed that being a job-hopper was a tool for pursuing the meaning of career success.
