Efisiensi Rute Distribusi Es Krim Menggunakan Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) Berbasis Geographical Information System (GIS)

Proses distribusi memberikan peranan penting dalam meningkatkan service level. Namun dalam setiap aktivitas distribusi, biaya transportasi merupakan biaya yang paling besar dan memiliki proporsi yang signifikan dalam membentuk harga barang. Karena proses transportasi merupakan aktivitas yang mengeluarkan banyak biaya maka proses ini perlu diimplementasikan secara efisien dan ekfektif agar dapat menghemat biaya dan meningkatkan tingkat pelayanan. Penelitian ini mengambil studi kasus di PT. Andrawina Darma Manunggal Mulya (PT. Andrawina) yang merupakan perusahaan distributor produk es krim Walls yang diproduksi oleh PT. Unilever Tbk. Strategi distribusi yang dilakukan PT. Andrawina adalah strategi sentralisasi yaitu strategi distribusi yang hanya memiliki satu gudang yang berlokasi di Yogyakarta untuk melayani setiap gerai yang ada di wilayah DIY. Kelebihan strategi sentralisasi adalah memiliki biaya inventori, biaya pergudangan dan biaya over head yang rendah. Namun kelemahan dari strategi ini yaitu memiliki tingkat pelayanan yang rendah karena waktu transportasi ke konsumen yang lebih lama dibandingkan dengan strategi desentralisasi dan biaya transportasi ke konsumen yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan rute distribusi produk es krim Walls sehingga dapat menghemat biaya dan meningkatkan tingkat pelayanan ke konsumen. Pada penelitian ini, pemataan rute distribusi akan menggunakan metode Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) yang dikombinasikan dengan Geographical Information Systems (GIS) sehingga menghasilkan peta nyata rute distribusi produk yang efisien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biaya total yang dikeluarkan untuk melakukan kegiatan distribusi dari hari Senin hingga hari Jumat dalam waktu satu tahun untuk distrik 3 dan 4 bila mengikuti rute distribusi yang disusun dalam penelitian ini adalah Rp 29.312.736 atau sebesar 72% dari biaya distribusi yang dikeluarkan tahun 2010. Rute distribusi yang disusun pada penelitian ini dapat menghemat waktu perjalanan armada distribusi. Waktu total perjalanan armada distribusi dari hari Senin hingga Jumat adalah 2650 menit.

Distribution process provides an important role in improving the service level. But in every activity distribution, transportation costs are the most important costs and have a significant proportion in the form of goods prices. Because the transport process is an activity that involves a lot of money and this process needs to be implemented efficiently and effectively in order to save costs and improve service levels. This research is a case study in PT. Darma Andrawina Manunggal Mulya (PT Andrawina) which is a distributor company of Walls ice cream manufactured by PT. Unilever Limited. Distribution strategy by PT. Andrawina is centralization strategy, which is a strategy that has only one distribution warehouse located in Yogyakarta to serve any existing outlets in the DIY area. Excess centralization strategy is to have inventory costs, warehousing costs and low overhead costs. But the weakness of this strategy is that it has low levels of service for transportation to the consumer time, longer than the strategy of decentralization and transportation costs to consumers are high. This study aims to determine the distribution routes of Walls ice cream products that can save costs and improve service levels to consumers. In this study, observation of distribution route will use the method of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) combined with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to produce tangible route map and an efficient distribution of products. The results showed that the total costs incurred to conduct distribution activities from Monday to Friday within a year for districts 3 and 4 when following a route distribution compiled in this study is $ 29,312,736 or 72% of distribution costs, incurred in 2010. Distribution routes drawn on this research can save travel time distribution fleet. Total travel time distribution fleet from Monday to Friday is 2650 minutes.
