Pemanfaatan media internet mampu menjawab kebutuhan perpustakaan akan kecepatan akses informasi serta penyebaran informasi tanpa batas untuk banyak pengguna. Salah satu aplikasi yang dapat digunakan dengan memanfaatkan media internet adalah dibangunnya situs web perpustakaan. Situs web yang telah ada perlu dievaluasi untuk memperoleh masukan dari pengguna atas penggunaan situs web perpustakaan. Masukan dari pengguna akan bermanfaat untuk pengembangan situs web selanjutnya. Tujuan penelitian evaluasi situs web perpustakaan adalah untuk mengetahui usability (kegunaan) situs web Perpustakaan Fakultas Geografi (lib.geo.ugm.ac.id) serta untuk mengetahui apakah mahasiswa merasakan efektifitas, efisiensi dan kepuasan penggunaan situs web Perpustakaan Fakultas Geografi. Penelitian ini berlandaskan pada pemahaman tentang usability yang terdapat pada kamus online serta pada Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia yang mendefinisikan usability (kegunaan) sebagai faedah, manfaat, serta definisi usability sesuai ISO:9241:11 (1998) Ergonomic Requirements for OfficeWork With Visual Display Terminals (VDT). Part 11: Guidance in Usability. International Standards Organization, London. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode random sampling. Seratus responden dalam penelitian ini dihadapkan pada 11 pertanyaan kuesioner guna mengevaluasi situs web Perpustakaan Fakultas Geografi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa situs web Perpustakaan Fakultas Geografi sangat bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa Fakultas Geografi. Artinya tingkat usability situs web perpustakaan dinilai sangat baik. Faktor effectiviness dan efficiency berpengaruh signifikan terhadap usability situs web Perpustakaan. Sedangkan Faktor satisfaction tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap usability situs web perpustakaan. Artinya tingkat satisfaction menggunakan situs web perpustakaan, tidak mempengaruhi secara nyata terhadap tingkat usability-nya.

Utilization of the Internet media library will be able to answer the needs of the speed of information access and dissemination of information without boundaries for many users. One application that can be used by utilizing the internet media is the construction of the library website. Web sites that already exist need to be evaluated to obtain user feedback on the use of the library website. Input from users will be useful for further website development. The purpose of this study was to determine the usability (usability) School of Geography Library web site (lib.geo.ugm.ac.id) as well as to determine whether students feel the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction of use of the Library School of Geography website. This study is based on an understanding of usability contained in the online dictionary as well as the Big Indonesian Dictionary which defines usability as avail, benefit, and the definition of usability according to ISO: 9241:11 (1998) Ergonomic Requirements for Visual Display Terminals With OfficeWork (VDT). Part 11: Guidance in Usability. International Standards Organization, London. This type of study is a quantitative study with a survey method. Sampling using random sampling methods. One hundred respondents in this study are faced with 11 questions questionnaire to evaluate the Library School of Geography website. The analysis showed that the Library of the Faculty of Geography web site is very useful for students of the Faculty of Geography. This means that the level of the library web site usability is considered very good. Effectiviness and efficiency factors significantly influence the Library web site usability. While the satisfaction factor had no significant effect on the library web site usability. This means that the level of satisfaction using the library web site, does not affect significantly the level of its usability.
