Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan dan menjelaskan tentang bagaimana pengaruh agama terhadap peran Jemaat Gereja Protestan Maluku Bethel dalam membangun Perdamaian Pasca Konflik 2002 di Kota Ambon. Adapun latar belakang pemilihan topik ini adalah bahwa; 1) Kota Ambon sebagai salah satu medan terjadi konflik sosial tahun 1999 masih menyisahkan konflik yang suatu saat dapat kembali terulang. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena realita jarak sosial akibat prasangka dan ketakutan antar pemeluk agama. 2) Jemaat Gereja Protestan Maluku Bethel merupakan salah satu potret dari situasi pasca konflik tersebut. 3) Agama adalah salah satu strategi konsolidasi perdamaian yang dapat digunakan untuk membangun perdamaian di kota Ambon. Sumber perdamaian dalam agama efektif berpengaruh terhadap Jemaat Gereja Protestan Maluku Bethel sebagai peacebuilder dalam situasi pasca konflik. Dengan demikian, maka studi ini secara khusus dilakukan guna membangun perdamaian di Kota Ambon yang dimulai dari unit terkecil yaitu jemaat di Kota Ambon, sehingga konflik serupa tidak akan terjadi di masa depan. Kerangka teori yang digunakan dalam melakukan studi ini adalah konsep peran agama dan aktivitas peacebuilding dalam lingkup agama yaitu transformasi konflik yang dirangkum oleh Scoot Appleby; 1) Dimensi Manajemen konflik. 2) Dimensi Resolusi Konflik. 3) Dimensi Reformasi Konflik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi partisipan, interview mendalam, dan studi pustaka yang berkaitan dengan peran Jemaat dalam peacebuilding pasca konflik 2002 di Kota Ambon. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, 1) dari ketiga dimensi transformasi konflik yang dirangkum oleh Scoot Appleby, hanya dimensi resolusi konflik yang dilakukan pasca konflik 2002 dalam lingkup Jemaat Gereja Protestan Maluku. 2) Dimensi resolusi konflik yang dilakukan oleh gereja dan jemaat tidak berpengaruh terhadap peran jemaat dalam membangun perdamaian karena banyak program yang gagal dijalankan. 3) Tidak adanya pengaruh agama terhadap peran Jemaat Gereja Protestan Maluku Bethel disebabkan oleh; bentuk agama, tidak maksimalnya peran tokoh agama dalam transformasi konflik, dan sikap mengandalkan kearifan lokal tanpa mengajarkan Jemaat akan konteks plural dalam berkehidupan bermasyarakat pasca konflik di kota Ambon.

This study aims to describe and explain how the influence of religion on the role of the Maluku Protestant Church Bethel Church in Post-Conflict Peace building 2002 in Ambon city. The background is that the selection of topics; 1) the city of Ambon as one field of social conflict in 1999 is still keep a conflict potention that someday could again be repeated. This can happen because the reality of social distance as a result of prejudice and fear among religious. 2) Maluku Protestan Church Bethel Church is one potrait of post-conflict situations. 3) Religion is one of peace consolidation strategy that can be used to build peace in the city of Ambon. Effective source of peace in the religious influence on Maluku Protestant Church Bethel Church as peacebuilder in post-conflict situations. Thus, the study was specifically done to build peace in Ambon city that starts from the smallest unit of a church in Ambon city, so that similar conflicts will not occur in the future. Theoretical framework used in this study is the concept of the role of religion and peacebuilding activities in the sphere of religion that conflict transformation is summarized by Scott Appleby; 1) Dimensions of conflict management. 2) Dimensions of Conflict Resolution. 3) Dimensions of the Reformation Conflict. The data was collected by the method of participant observation, depth interviews, and literature relating to the church's role in post-conflict peacebuilding 2002 in Ambon City. The results of this study indicate that, 1) of the three dimensions of conflict transformation is summarized by Scott Appleby, only the dimensions of conflict resolution is done post-2002 conflict in the scope of the Church of Maluku Protestant Church. 2) Dimensions of conflict resolution is done by the church and the congregation had no effect on the church's role in peace-building because many programs fail to run. 3) Absence of influence of religion on the role of the Maluku Protestant Church Bethel Church caused by; the form of religion, the role of religious leaders in conflict transformation not maximum, and the attitude of relying on local wisdom without teaching the chruch‟s congregation about plural context in social life at ambon.
