PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN FLY ASH PT. YOGYATEK SEBAGAI FILLER PADA CAMPURAN ASPHALT CONCRETE BINDER COURSE (AC-BC)

Yogyatek. Jumlahnya tidak banyak, tetapi sejauh ini belum ada pemanfaatannya secara pasti. Penelitian tentang penggunaan fly ash Yogyatek sebagai filler pada campuran AC-BC (Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course) ini diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan limbah tersebut dan meningkatkan kinerja campuran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara mensubstitusi filler abu batu (stone dust) dengan fly ash Yogyatek melalui penyetaraan volume dengan variasi 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100%. Kadar aspal optimum (KAO) masing-masing variasi ditentukan dengan metode Narrow Range dari hasil pengujian Marshall berdasarkan Spesifikasi Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum (2010). Pengujian lanjutan pada KAO terdiri dari uji Perendaman Marshall (Marshall Immersion) untuk menentukan nilai Indeks Perendaman (IP) dan uji Tarik Tak Langsung (Indirect Tensile Strength, ITS) untuk menentukan nilai TSR (Tensile Strength Ratio). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan KAO benda uji variasi 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% fly ash adalah 5,6%, 5,6%, 5,7%, 5,8%, dan 6,0%, Indeks perendaman 96,65%, 96,01%, 98,47%, 98,19%, dan 98,48% serta nilai TSR 83,41%, 88,43%, 85,36%, 82,92% dan 82,97%. Substitusi fly ash pada filler AC-BC meningkatkan nilai VIM, VMA, Stabilitas, Kekakuan (MQ), durabilitas (IP), dan rasio kuat tarik (TSR) serta menurunkan nilai VFA, Kerapatan, Kelelehan, dan ITS campuran. Hasil pengujian lanjutan (Marshall Immersion dan ITS) semua variasi memenuhi Spesifikasi Kementerian PU (2010) dan AASHTO T-283-89 dengan durabilitas paling optimum diperoleh pada variasi filler 50% fly ash : 50% abu batu.
Yogyatek fly ash is the waste of coal combustion in fixed bed systems that is used for generating steam plant in PT. Yogyatek textile industry. It’s amount is not so much, but the waste has not certainly utilized so far. Research on the use of Yogyatek fly ash as a filler in the AC-BC (Asphalt Concrete - Binder Course) mixture is expected to utilize the waste and improve the AC-BC mixture performance. Research carried out by substituting Yogyatek fly ash into stone dust mineral filler by volume equalization, with variations 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The optimum asphalt content (OAC) of each variation was determined by the Narrow Range method through Marshall testing based on Ministry of Public Works (2010) specifications. Further testing on the OAC consisted of Marshall Immersion testing to determine the Retained Marshall Stability (RMS) and Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) testing to determine Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR) value. The results showed OAC of specimens in variations 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% Yogyatek fly ash were 5.6%, 5.6%, 5.7%, 5.8%, and 6.0 % respectively. RMS values are 96.65%, 96.01%, 98.47%, 98.19% and 98.48% respectively. While TSR values is 83.41%, 8843%, 85.36%, 82.92% and 82.97% respectively. The Yogyatek fly ash substitution into the AC-BC filler increase the VIM, VMA, Stability, Marshall Quotient (MQ), RMS, and TSR values and decrease VFA, density, flow, and ITS values of mixture. The further testing results (Marshall Immersion and ITS) all variations fulfill Ministry of Public Works (2010) and AASHTO T 283-89 specification. Variation in the most optimum durability was 50% fly ash : 50% stone dust.
