Penelitian tentang peran partai politik terhadap penguatan demokratisasi masyarakat sipil (civil society) sangat penting untuk dikaji lebih mendalam karena terkait dengan eksistensi dan kedaulatan rakyat dalam sistem pemerintahan yang demokratis melalui ajang pemilihan umum untuk memilih pemimpin nasional yang memperoleh legitimasi kuat dari rakyat untuk mewujudkan kesejahteraan sebagaimana tujuan nasional. Ketika tercipta penguatan demokratisasi melalui pemilihan umum yang melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat maka proses ini akan memberikan kontribusi bagi terciptanya ketahanan politik. Kerangka teoritik dalam penelitian ini adalah menekankan pada hubungan antara peran partai politik terhadap demokratisasi dan hubungan partai politik dengan ketahanan politik. Sedangkan metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan didukung oleh data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan partai politik dalam penguatan partisipasi masyarakat dan dalam kaitannya dengan ketahanan politik terdapat beberapa hal yang masih perlu dilakukan penyempurnaan atau direvisi terutama menyangkut kegiatan pemberdayaan sosialisasi politik dan rekrutmen elite politik dalam partai politik. Rekomendasi yang dapat disampaikan dalam penelitian tesis ini adalah diperlukan adanya suatu pengaturan dalam bentuk peraturan perundang-undangan khususnya tentang pemberdayaan sosialisasi politik dan rekrutmen elite politik dalam partai politik. Hal ini diperlukan agar tercipta keseragaman di antara partai politik guna menciptakan ketahanan politik yang utuh.

The study about the political parties role towards the democratization strengthening of civil society is important to be researched deeply as they relate to the existence and sovereignty of the people in the democratic system of government through elections to choose the arena of national leaders who have strong legitimacy from the people for welfare as national goals. When it is created the strengthening of democratization through elections that involve the participation of the community the process will contribute to the make resistance political. The recommendations provides from this thesis research has to make an arrangement in the form of legislation, especially concerning the empowerment of political socialization and recruitment of political elites in political parties. It is necessary to ensure the uniformity among the political parties to create a political resistance intact. xiii The theoretical framework of this study is to emphasize the relationship between the role of political parties towards democratization and political party relations with political resistance. The research method uses descriptive qualitative supported by quantitative data. The results indicates there are several things of the role of political parties in strengthening community participation and in connection with the political resistance still need to be improved or revised, especially concerning to the empowerment activities of political socialization and recruitment of political elites in political parties.
