KUALITAS SPERMATOZOA MENCIT (Mus musculus L.) STRAIN BALB/C SETELAH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK ETANOLIK BIJI TERONG POKAK (Solanum torvum Swarzt)

Terong pokak yang mengandung solasodin diduga sebagai bahan antifertilitas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari efek pemberian ekstrak etanolik biji terong pokak terhadap kualitas spermatozoa mencit serta mempelajari spermatogenesis setelah pemberian perlakuan tersebut. Lima belas ekor mencit dibagi dalam 5 kelompok masing-masing 3 ekor, kelompok I diberi perlakuan secara oral dengan akuades sebagai kontrol (K), kelompok II diberi perlakuan dengan etinil estradiol 0,025 mg sebagai standar (S), dan kelompok lain diberi berlakuan dengan ekstrak etanolik biji terong pokak dengan dosis 0,07 mg/g BB/hari (P1), 0,14 mg/g BB/hari (P2), dan 0,21 mg/g BB/hari (P3) selama 35 hari. Pada hari ke-36 semua mencit dikorbankan dan diamati kualitas spermatozoanya. Testis diambil untuk dibuat preparat histologis guna mengamati spermatogenesis. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kuantitatif dianalisa signifikansinya menggunakan ANAVA dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan LSD 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanolik biji terong pokak dapat menurunkan motilitas dan menaikkan jumlah spermatozoa abnormal, serta menurunkan jumlah spermatosit primer.

Eggplant contains of solasodine that belived as antifertility agent. The goals of these research are to learn the effect of ethanolic seed eggplant extract orally administration on the quality of sperms and also to learn the spermatogenesis of the treated with ethanolic seed eggplant extract. Fiveteen mice were devided into 5 group of 3, one group was treated with aquades as control, the 2nd group was treated with etinil esradiol as standard, the other groups was treated with 0.07 mg, 0.14 mg, 0.21 mg ethanolic seed eggplant extract respectively which given during 35 days. One day after the last experiment animal were sacrificed. Testes were dissected out. The quantitatif data were analyzed using ANAVA and LSD 5%. The results showed that the ethanolic extrat of seed eggplant can make sperm motility become decrease, abnormal sperm increase, and primary spermatosit decrease.
